Great video. Thanks. I only get out a couple times a year when I head back to Bonaire. I’m not a huge fan of kiting our lakes in Dallas because of too many wind shadows, I don’t float in fresh water (even with a vest), and too much boat traffic. When we left Bonaire in October I was learning upwind kiting, so hopefully I can try some of this soon.
@covidhoax76463 жыл бұрын
Easy come, easy go! You can explain it all you want, but you just need to feel the kite and the wind.

awsome inspiring video , keep going back to it , especially the simple cruising along and aerial transitions touch the beach ....thats kite boarding !
@fabriziocastellari78357 жыл бұрын
Cool video, thanks. I wonder if you could do a video on the position of the kite in respect to the kiter during the jump and the air transition. I think I have difficulty in visualising the actual position of the pull of the kite while this is happening. Thanks again, keep it up!!

So I finally managed to get going on the kite and started landing basic jumps. Looking forward to try some of these beginner tricks! Thanks 🤗

Great video, sometimes its hard to see what you're doing when its the POV camera angle. Would love a front roll video. Thanks again!
@kevinbrooker95088 жыл бұрын
The POV shots are nice but there is no visual perspective as to where the kite is with respect to the rider. Can you shoot the basic tricks from a few angles (maybe behind and side views)so we can see what the kite is doing during the trick? Thanks, Kevin

Hey Jake, I love your vids man. I wish you'd post more often but I know it's not easy. I would love to see you do a series such as "Trick Tuesday". Maybe you could teach one trick each Tuesday. If there's no wind to make a trick vid, you could take an old clip of a trick and break it down and talk us through it. Anyway, I'm going kiting tomorrow in Cape Town South Africa and re-watching some of your older vids for inspiration. Cheers man!

If you're a beginner, you normally can't do "tricks". In true sports, that's for the advanced or even expert level. So this must truly be a kids' sport.
@donsylvester52758 жыл бұрын
I really like your video series. Interesting. But for many of us who are still in the beginner-humiliation phase can I suggest you break down the skills into more discrete info? For you its "boom, boom, boom" easy ..... but a bit more specific slow-mo video and description of exactly what you're doing would be quite helpful. Get someone else to video you? Show and tell us how you're coordinating the kite and your body position? Thanks!
@JakeKelsick8 жыл бұрын
Northern Secret thanks for the feed back. This video is meant to be more of a guide to give you some ideas for what you might want to work on next. Not a super tech breakdown. But will keep that in mind for the next video. Thanks for watching!

I always lose alot of speed when switching to toeside.. My kite stays in the same position and gives the same amount of pressure. But im still sinking once I switch.. Any tips?
@Mikhashilin2 жыл бұрын
You don't put enough weight on your toes so you ride towards the kite. That decreases the apparent wind so you lose speed and sink

If you have flat water I'd say give it a go lyn! Feels super funky at first but it's fun and freeing once you get use to it. No real need for it unless you are hitting features though or have an obsession with sliding up the beach haha

Awesome Video! Thanks for breaking it down easy! Interested in a video on getting started! I've watched a lot of videos with the basic training steps (learn the basics of setting up the kite, getting in the water, emergency recover board etc etc) but would love a video on doing kiteboarding on your own. Everyone talks about having a partner which is great, but perhaps have a video on doing with a partner even if your partner has never kite boarded before. I've wakeboarded a bunch, and am taking in these videos before I jump on a kite board. But for someone who is looking to avoid a "lesson" and simply get in the water and figure it out quickly- would love any tips! Thanks for this video and others!
