Felt elated to listen to this magnificent ghazal in the soulful voice of Ma'am Pratibha Singh Baghel for the very first time ! I happened to listen to this ghazal in the magical voice of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab time without numbers ! That was an altogether different experience, since the great Khan Saab had rendered it with his heart out giving it an epic proportion ! It goes without saying that the great Mehdi Hassan Saab had given Ghazal Gayiki a pedestal which will be difficult to surpass ! Infact, the great Khan Saab was the first and last word in Ghazal Gayiki ! Nevertheless, this rendition by Ma'am Pratibha Singh Baghel was, indeed, a balanced performance, which is quite appealing and interesting ! Ma'am Baghel has a beautiful voice with clarity of pronounciation, depth and wide range, which is eminently suitable for ghazal gayiki ! She certainly deserves a pat on her back for this valiant effort ! It's really gratifying to note that another promising female ghazal singer has arrived on the ghazal horizon of India after the great Chitrajee !
