BTS are so versatile! They have music for a lot of genres, you'll find something to love in their discography. There are three rappers in the group and I would dead ass put them against any Western rapper in the WORLD as far as how talented they are lyrically, and flow and production ability and work ethic and mentality. They also are students of hip hop, true students with the utmost respect from its roots. They’re inspired by legends like NAS, pac, Jay Z, etc. they wearing clothes and tolmbout NASTY NAS LIKE ILLMATIC. Zero culture vulture or appropriation whatsoever, just pure love for the music and all the fuckin talent in the world. I promise y’all BTS not Kpop. I became a fan in 2014 with bulletproof pt. 2 that was the 1st video I had the pleasure of watching. RM's high top fade, pimp cane, and his rapping had me shook. He reminded me of a Kool Moe Dee or a Big Daddy Kane. I was so happy about his culture appreciation. When others was hating on him for the way he looked. I loved him for it. That showed me that they appreciate my culture and I been in love with all of them ever since. Im so tired of American rappers now a days trying to be so gangster that they too hard to dance and they just seem lazy ass hell to me and they all talk about nothing. So when I found out about BTS it was like a breath of fresh air. I love BTS for so many other reasons but the fact that they appreciate and love my culture makes me so happy. In interviews they talk about their hip hop influencers that u mentioned up above and how they helped influence their music. I love the fact that JHope was popping and locking to Pfunk before debut. They just spread love and they all love each other and they love us and I love all of them for it. I love to see another army hit it on the head because there are a lot of fake army's out there that are just riding the band wagon and only care about one member. Their leader RM collabed with WALE also a few years ago. Wale said he thought that rappers in the group were some of the most talented he'd ever met. They actually properly studied hip hop unlike other groups that think its all about the clothes and money and dont understand the essence of it.

BTS has been around since 2013, but they've only become so well known since... 2015ish? Back in their lesser known days they came to America (LA) for their own reality show called American Hustle Life, in which they learned about the origins of hip hop (in person) from Warren G and Coolio. It's really impacted their work and multicultural appreciation. You can find all 8 episodes on Dailymotion with English subtitles :) highly recommend!!! Welcome to our world!

our fandom loves welcoming new ppl into bts, and it's okay if sometimes there are some stuff that might get you confused or whatever, but we are here to inform you if you have any questions or sth :) they're the biggest group in the world rn and they have worked their asses off to be where they are now, they didn't have anything handed to them easily, ppl used to hate on them and not a lot believed that they would make it however, they always believed in themselves and in the fans and worked hard to achieve their dreams, they definetely deserve all the success they have now. if you're interested in their journey i suggest the videos "who is bts: the 7 members of bangtan" and also "bts from nobodies to legends" to get an understanding of where they're coming from.

I think it's about time that people are becoming more open minded to great music that is not in English. I hope that appreciation for global music becomes more shared, be it in Korean, Farsi, Hindi, Swahili, or many, many other languages. But, I think it takes a certain type of people, an open-minded group of people, to appreciate it.
