These kind of videos make me jealous. It is a crystal clear day up here in the Mat-Su Valley of Alaska. Unlimited visibility. And my airplane is covered with snow, behind a 6 foot berm of snow left by the snow plow. I still have at least two months before I can fly again.

My favorite kind of flying. Most of the missions I flew (Army NG) were where I had my finger stuck to a map and watching for landmarks. Only navaid in the OH-58 was an ADF. So all our navigation was off a sectional or a 7.5 topo map. Nap of the earth flying is fun, but not when you have to navigate and can't appreciate the beauty of your surroundings. So when the pilot would hand the controls over and we had nowhere to go it was nice to take a heading and just watch the scenery. Not much traffic at 500 agl.

Yes I love these kind of vids. It makes me feel better about my younger days. I once had a “ project” motorcycle in my garage. It was right next to my brand new Harley ultra classic. And on Saturday morning I would enter the garage with all intentions of working on the project motorcycle. But I decided to go for a short ride ( 6-8 hrs)on my new bike. Two years later I gave the project motorcycle away. So, I know as you work on you new project.....your blue angle beauty calls to you 😎

Mark, search Aircraft Spruce for "vernier throttle." They have a push-button lock on the end and a threaded neck, like a prop control for a constant speed prop. To get full throttle, just push on the end. To get idle, put your index and middle fingers over the knob, push the button with your thumb and pull. To make fine power adjustments, just twist the knob. Once you get one, you'll never go back to a friction lock!

@fernandocs4783
@fernandocs4783 3 жыл бұрын
Very nice videos. Please keep them coming. Also enjoy your SD build videos. Would you mind sharing, in a single video, all of the performance information you have obtained from your various flights in the Cruzer? I'm particularly interested in your real world experience with stall speeds, as well as cruising and top speeds, and at what fuel consumption. For example, it is hard to believe that the Cruzer stalls at 39 mph, but the 750 Stol, with its slats, only stalls 4 mph slower at 35mph. If so, I am not sure the 750 is for me, might as well build a Cruzer and maybe attempt to put VGs on the wing. I did see from another video that you like to cruise around 2400 rpm, and that appears to only give you about 88 mph indicated at 4,000 density altitude, but if you use the maximum continuous rpm of 2800 you get up to about 112 mph indicated, or 121 true. What fuel flows do you see at those settings, and how about somewhere in the middle or 2600 rpm? Anyway, having a single video with all of the performance information available in one place would be great as a comparison to the numbers Zenith provides. By the way, I also fly a Mooney, a 65 M20E. Love that airplane for travel, but thinking of giving building a try with something like the Cruzer or maybe even the SD for some local fun flying. Those big windows look great. Thanks.
