Great video. I'm curious to know if you think there are any examples of modern or contemporary art that follow the kitsch philosophy. Though I agree (with your previous videos) that modern art regularly abstracts too far to for anyone to gain understanding without explanation. I believe there has to be a way to express universal truths through the arts without purely classical paintings or sculpture. Keep up the great work. Cheers! (a video on examples of shared universal truths would be pretty chill too)

The reason classical art and sculpture express universal truth is because they are trying to represent something that is actually there. The classics use the symbol of shape and color in ways that resonate with the human experience. Modern art abstracts to the point that we are in such a corner of this individual's mind that whatever truth is being symbolized is lost behind layers of personal experience. And that is valid. Yet the masters were able to have those same experiences, and still use the common alphabet of color theory, proportion, and even allegory and storytelling in a way that so powerfully lasts to this day. I don't know what modern/post-modern art is going to be seen in that light in 500 years

So, something that you can ascribe or project upon as understandable, so you can talk to others about it and feel assured that you have a high probability of being understood? Something that entertains or inspires you, and others you interact with, by it's seemingly genius origin? Something that fits on an axiological spectrum of some sort - that others you respect might also subscribe to?

Funnily enough is that you starts by saying “for me” before you go on to explain universal truths. This strikes me as though your are (as we all are) deeply embedded in a modern, individual and relativistic ideology, despite yours and others (partly me as well) efforts to challenge that.
