I do find it very strange that some people would rather you kept these palettes undamaged but unused, gathering dust, than refitted for a new lease on life. I love the new look frankenmother!
@Chaotic_Pixie2 жыл бұрын
That's a brilliant name! Frankenmother and Frankenbaby! And people will whine and cringe over anything. I had a palette from colourpop that game with every shade slightly dinged and damaged and one completely shattered. I contacted them and they sent me replacement in perfect condition. I proceeded to go live and destroy the broken one in some ASMR style destruction. Me and about 100ppl found it very satisfying... but almost as many came to whine about how I was wasting good product and could have donated it or how they would have gladly let me ship it to them. 🙄😑 No place was gonna take it as a donation because it was broken and I wasn't paying to give away broken makeup to someone who could afford to buy new. People are weird and entitled. I'm super glad Kat frankened the palettes and will get some use out of the money she spent now. People act like makeup is food or clean drinking water... it baffles me.

This was actually so cathartic to watch - loved it. I’m a big fan of depotting, repotting, mixing franken-shadows and generally messing with my makeup. It’s really fun making something you don’t enjoy into a new combination.
@aaflesje2 жыл бұрын
Would you repress or depot? I think repressing is messy but depotting is always a risk with breaking and then even more messy for repress haha🤭😅
@KitschSnitch2 жыл бұрын
I know you weren't asking me, but from experience with a lot of repressing over the years in The Makeup Breakup series on Beauty News, repressing should be your last resort because it really does weaken and dry out the shadow and inevitably it will crumble and break down the track. It's only something I do when I am trying to save a broken shadow.

Thats what I love about Natasha Denona, that you can customize her palettes and get rid or sell shades you do not need. With rearraning my ND Palettes I fall in love with them over and over again just by a nother color scheme I can create. Pat should concider the same (=magnetic palettes)
@killywilly7402 жыл бұрын
I really wish she would! Both brands should consider singles as well
@Chaotic_Pixie2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree! Now if only ND would start offering the purchase of singles so you can replace shades you've used up. I only have mini palettes from her but have a couple makeup artist friends who love her palettes because they can put all shimmers in one and all mattes in another or pull from them to make custom palettes with singles from other brands. I'm not in a position to want more eyeshadows... but when I am, I will only buy from brands where I can depot and rearrange or that sell their shadows as singles.

I’m a Pat fan. However, I completely understand your points. I have an extensive Tom Ford eyeshadow collection. I dislike most of it. The quads and palettes are not worth the money I spent, and I don’t get why the brand is so venerated. I bought into the hype for a while, thinking I kept missing something or I lacked some essential skill. It was dumb.

I wish ALL eyeshadows came magnetic to mix and match based on season, travel, whatever. So much more practical than having to dig out the hairdryer to do it the hard way! The plastic mesh just reaffirms for me that these are not for professional use. There is no way to replace those shades. There’s no way to depot and put them in magnetic pallets or all in one like you’re doing. These are very expensive commercial purpose pallets.

The final 10 pan is beautiful - I would buy that! I did something similar with the Natasha Denona Retro, Glam and Sunrise and kept 2 out of 3 palettes but rearranged and curated to my tastes. I *LOVE* that you tore them apart and kept what you will most likely use! Your new little mini franken palette looks like it might be pretty good for traveling or quick and easy looks too so that's a nice bonus. And now with the big franken palette, you can store it with other companion palettes like your cliondah singles and such. 10/10 in my brain I'd get soooo much more use out of them the way you have them now because I actually will go into a palette of just glittery and special eyeshadows when I'm working with a palette of all mattes or mostly mattes but I wouldn't think to reach for a PMG special shade in a normal palette when using another palette. Too much brain effort.

I have been using the 6 pan one for the last few days as an everyday palette and I do like it. I kept shades that perform well and some simple shades I can use for quick one and done shadow looks. Keeping it simple is best with this formula anything too complicated looks a bit muddy, but that suits my daily routine anyway. I haven’t used the special palette yet but that’s more of a palette for a pop of sparkle on certain occasions, so it will get use, but not in my daily life
