Many have stated this, but my jaw dropped as a kid when this episode aired. And then when they put him back together, I thought KITT was no longer going to have his MBS. And then we flash to the next episode where KITT has to open his T-top and get his seats shot up. Very traumatizing for a young Knight Rider fan. And on a personal note, I just completed a customized season 2 KITT model and getting ready to complete KARR. Yes I am a Knight Rider junky for life!

K.I.T.T. was definitely the greatest fictional car of all time. Even greater than Marty McFly's DeLorean. My 7th grade classmate actually thought KITT was "alive", hahaha! This was the first time I was genuinely afraid and upset when I saw K.I.T.T. get decimated like this. The Goliath episode never convinced me he was done, nor did Knight of The Drones, because on both occasions K.I.T.T came around and was able to respond. I hadn't actually seen Junkyard Dog before this episode either, I'd missed it for some reason. The thing is, I didn't realise that was actually a chemical spray set up that took place before hand, just thought K.I.T.T. got residually sprayed and fell for it just like they did. When that Juggernaught hit K.I.T.T. and you saw the Brake light panel break off like that in one hit, it was literally a HS moment. It was like seeing Superman take that first punch from Doomsday. Was absolutely distraught by the end of this episode, as it was a double episode aired on two separate nights, so at first I thought that was it, the series was gonna end on that note. Both Michael AND K.I.T.T. look like they'd both been murdered. Edge of the seat TV, they don't make them like this anymore, not even close.

It was heart wrenching to see KITT get battered like that but I always felt that when KITT got dropped in acid in "Junkyard Dog" was worse because then he was totally destroyed and when Bonnie said, "he's gone, its not question of rebuilding him, its a question of re-creating him", to me that suggested that the original KITT no longer existed and what came out of the foundation repair facility was just a copy. It was KITT and at the same time, it wasn't.

Why would he? They would need: (1) a sensor that was set up to detect that, and (2) a reason to be suspicious enough to turn that sensor on. It's not as if KITT would feel something wrong - his exterior shell is probably non-conductive material. Think of it like an exoskeleton or shell - no nerves directly connected. ---- Of course, now that I've said that, someone will find an episode where KITT is being dipped in lava or acid or something and is yelling "Michael! It BURNS! I'm burning!!!"

I think the best episode with him was when he got arrested somewhere and had to run away from prison doing some commando stuff and even jumping a stolen car over a wall. Pity they didn't do more episodes like that, when Devon was the guy in heat of action.

@@TheStarTrekApologist I can agree with that..but the molecular bonded shell is what saved K.I.T.T's body but in knight of the juggernaut he had no defense or protection so that's why I say that one was the most violent of the four times he was destroyed

The part where Michael is out of it, and Bonnie finds him and KITT is an emotional gut punch. Michael talking to KITT, so out of it he's unaware that KITT isn't responding. And then Michael's slow realization that something is wrong and begins to panic, ask KITT to talk to him. If that doesn't bring a tear to your eye, I don't know what else would.

Yes, I noticed the driver side of the car didn't seem to get much damage apart from the juggernaut taking out KITT's rear light that side. Plus if you look closely, you'll notice the left wing mirror is still intact, while the juggernaut broke the right one off.

Love how KITT's roof is all dented after being wrecked by the juggernaut when the T-tops are meant to be glass that should've shattered. Obviously this was cuz the car they smashed up had a hardtop roof instead of an actual T-top roof.

@@FirstDan2000- The noses they used on the KITT cars were made of rubber. They were designed by George Barris. But yes, the nose did fold rather well. The normal plastic GM Bumper covers would have shattered to pieces the second the Juggernaut hit the front end.

No, but the effect of being ragdolled inside of a vehicle that's getting penetrated by an armored vehicle with a phallic ramrod (due to not wearing a seatbelt) is enough to cause plenty of physical damage to one's anatomy.

Hey, that’s the “Scrambler” from… I think it was “Starhunter: adventures in the forbidden zone”(?). Not exactly sure, I remember it had the same release marketing as a big budget and A-movie but it was definitely at best a B-movie maybe even a C-movie. It had Molly Ringwald as the plucky sidekick and Michael Ironsides as the bad guy. Definitely a Star Wars rip off as the lead guy was a Han Solo type and he had a Frenemy who is a black guy definitely Lando Calrissian looking.
