It's an excellent design. I love how clean and minimal it is. It's sleek, but not balloony. And I appreciate that it's not all boxy angles like the DeLorean, and similar early 80s sports cars. It actually kinda reminds me of Tesla designs (discounting the cybertruck). You would expect in a cheap B film like this that the car would be all tacked on fins and fairings, but it's clear they really knew car design. I actually love the back end too. Even though I've seen this thing half a dozen times, I always expect Rughead to say "Plug it in WHERE?" or something. Granted, the engine looks alien enough on its own, but that would've really helped drive home the fact that it's not just a regular suped-up engine. Granted, the hellish glow & lightning goes a long way.

The ending cracks me up when Sheen gives his bro the car. “Here’s a car I killed a bunch of kids in illegal street racing,I want you to have it”. 😆
@TheTallMan502 жыл бұрын
That made no sense to me. First of all the cops are looking for that car. Insurance, service maintenance and registration might be a problem for a car that's the only one in existence.

Then it all makes sense when you realize this is the guy from "Two and a Half Men". Charlie walking away with a hot girl and brother Allen ending up in jail for multiple murder would be a perfectly reasonable plot for that show. 😁

I got the special edition DVD of this. License plate on my Mustang says “Wraith”. Was in the military near this area (Tucson, AZ) in the early 80’s where this was filmed. Recognize a lot of the area in the movie. Used to road race many of the same roads around Tucson with friends on our motorcycles. Lots of great memories! The road going up Mt. Lemon is as treacherous as they show in the movie. Lot’s of burned up car wrecks down the side over the edge of the roadway. No guardrails at all then. Don’t know about now.
