A few years ago We helped a feral mommy cat raise her kittens. One afternoon, I was sitting in my backyard eating a ham sandwich for lunch and she was out foraging for food, smelled my sandwich. She came up to me so I gave her a sample, she gobbled it down. She was skinny and under Nourished, so I gave her more and more and then gave her a full slice of ham. She held it high a d pranced off to the neighbors backyard. The next morning she came over leading her four precious kittens. One of each color. We had an inside cat we called “Bunny” so we had plenty of kitty food. I stirred up dry cat food with a can of wet cat food with a little water to make it easier for the kittens to eat and put it down.They all happily ate their fill while mommy cat watched knowing they were safe and all was going to be well. No more lizards and frogs! When the kittens had their fill, mommy cat looked at me, I slid the bowl over to her and she had her fill. After a month of wonderful neighborly visits and breakfasts and dinners, they all were doing well and we took them to the vet for checkup, shots and fixing. The best thing for feral cats. The new neighbors Took over when we moved and occasionally we drive by to check on them. All is well.

My momma cat left her kitties for 3 days doing whatever, so I tried to feed them milk (actual proper kitty milk) in a tiny bowl, and they were acting like they were drowning. They just didnt understand how to get milk outside of a cats teet. Luckily momma cat came back and they grew up to be the most loving cats I've ever seen. 1 lap cat, 1 shoulder cat, 1 submissive cat (so I would pet it) and 1 cat that would rather be alone to sleep, but enjoyed every second of me petting her. 2 of them ran away, 1 was adopted and 1 staid behind (the lap cat).
