I can still remember this day, when i first time heard this band. This was like a journey in another world, closing my eyes, enjoy the atmosphere & almost fall in dreams. Amazing band. The last two releases were not masterpieces like "The Mantle" or "Ashes Against The Grain", but still better than 98% of all band-realeases in this genre. You can only love the music of this band.

The guitar work in this song is outa bounds. The opening riff, then a beautiful acoustic piece, then 3:55 with that awesome riff, 4:38 the first rippin solo, 5:40 another beautiful acoustic solo with the electric riding with it which you don't hear everyday. Then at 6:40 just the most powerful solo ever with that build up. Love how he keeps powering that solo. Then ending with that first opening riff. Incredible guitar work here. Hell of a song!

this song makes me miss living in washington state, I loved the mountains and rivers. Being able to go up there all day and relax, fish and just enjoy nature. Agalloch makes me yearn to return to that.

One of the best bands on the planet. I don't think Agalloch can produce a bad song. So much emotion and atmosphere, and it all seems to come effortlessly.

I hear rock, metal, black, depressive, doom, drone, post-metal and folk elements in it, but I thought this song was amazing the first time Pandora brought me to it many years ago, and it stands the test of time so well

Aurora swims in the ether, Emerald fire scars the night sky. Sólstafir! Amber streams from Sol Are not unlike the waves Of the sea, nor the endless horizon of ice. Sólstafir! I devoted this song to my first time in Norway, you'd think Burzum or Darkthrone might be better, but the way this song flows and that guitar at the very start makes it very connected with Norways scenery. In my opinion anyway. Reminds me of walking up Norwegian mountains and through dark forests.

Astyr yeah but his former band mates weren’t happy about it and pretty much disowned him over it. I don’t know. It just seems very unlikely they ever reunite now. I didn’t think what he did was a big deal. He apologized and that should be that. People make mistakes.

Awesome stuff!!!! Very atmospheric!!!! I remember a few months ago I had a trip with some friends going to mountain areas.. it was totally dark, nothing was seen and they brought down the windows and increased the volume to a very similar song.. One of my most intense and creepy experiences with a song like this being played in a pitch black night where you can only see the stars in the sky.. I'd do it all over again to experience once more :)
