The atmosphere this song creates is unparalleled and I could only hope to capture that in writing when that time comes

There was an archeological investigation of the lake and every diver went mad, because the lake is the deepest cave on the planet

This might not be my favorite Agalloch Song overall but this probably has my favorite Vocal performance by the Bands Singer John Haughm. The part at 7:20 when he starts screaming in a crying like way is so beautiful and unique. An absolute massive piece of a Song thats among their best in their discography.

Agreed. It sounds like that segment is the heathen who sent the curse speaking. In the context of the second line of that verse "To the world; this peril shall spread all sorrows", they voice really sounds like it gazed upon the peril of all sorrows.

I will always associate this song with the beauty of romantic thought being able to link nature's development and a cosmopolitan order. In my heart lie the word of Fichte, Schelling and Hegel and the beauty of Nature's secret. Mainly Schelling's thought about the art as an expression of both nature and culture, instinct and politics, irrational and rational. This being a piece of art, every time I listen to the part from 13:30 I experience something beyond this separation, maybe, the Absolute...
