@@ATherapeuticEdge Pete, just received the knife. Great design and the grip is so comfortable. However, the detent is so strong I can’t open the knife one handed (thumb roll). I have never seen a knife this difficult to open. Forget about doing a Spydie flick, impossible. It’s basically a 2 handed knife as is. Any suggestions or should I just return it to Blade HQ?

Kizer’s my favorite budget brand. Have an older Aileon ti and S35vn that is awesome but never gained much traction. Thanks for the video!

My first Kizer I bought is the Towser K in blue richlite scales. I love it. One of the sharpest knives I own. I only own two more kizers and one is that little futuristic looking knife. It guess some say it resembles a electric truck. Mine is the Tyger model made by Kizer. My other kizer is the purple Swayback button lock. It's very fidgity. I love that knife also. Thanks for the video and sharing.😊🔪

You have to keep an eye out. Mojave recently had the Ursa Minor (fantastic blade shape) on sale for $100 and White Mountain had the VK1 as the knife of the day last week for $119. Plus there are a lot of 10% discount codes for both stores. Kizer is moving the old inventory, I am guessing in prep for the Spring Festival.

For me, the ultimate version of the Sheepdog would be the same as this, but without the vent holes, and ....... BUTTON LOCK!!!!! I can just imagine this big ol blade coming free at the press of a button and ending its journey with a beautiful ...... tiiiiing.

ATE/Peter ... Wow, I'd definitely be interested in these models vs. the small stuff over the last 2 years. Kizer needs to do the S'dog XL done 'nicer' ... but not the trend.

I own a lot of Kizers, the full Ti ones are much nicer than the newer ones and the vanguard series. But the Vanguard critical mini in 3V steel is amazing too. I kind of want to pick this one up too xD maybe soon.

They've definitely put their energy into smaller sprint runs of a wide array of different versions. I don't know if they've stopping production on the regular models.

I go the other way. I like micarta, I hate Ti handles. I like small knives, but I have a need for a big one too. So do I get the Sheepdog XL or the Youjumbo? Some thought is required.

The Sheepdog XL is huge, I mean almost too huge to regularly carry and I prefer big knives. The Yojumbo is a stellar knife.. of course you can get the Sheepdog XL and another knife for the price of the Yojumbo. Interesting conundrum..

How deep does the framelock lock the blade ? I think its determined in percentage i guess. Like 30% or 40% is like standard. This sheepdogg ti at least the one i got is barley catching the blade like. 5%. Looks like the blade can slip at any minute.

The Vanguard version of the Kane is a terrible knife. I have to respectfully disagree, Kizer killed it in 2021. I loved the amazing stuff they produced.

@@ATherapeuticEdge Don't get me wrong I have some older S35VN stuff like the Kesmec and the V3. But I loved the direction they went this last year. Especially updating the older models, like the Roach. I also sent Beez Blades a Vanguard Kane so he would know first hand that not everything Kizer has done has been a gem.
