Good project, the ring you took off the motor is there for a reason, to increase torque, so by altering it you've probably lost a little of it. 8/10 for the effort :-)

Which power supply you have used to show the demo?? Li ion pack or Battery pack or SMPS . There will be a big difference. With Li ion battery power supply it cannot cut the wood, motor stops, I have tried it. So please clarify regarding power supply to be used.
