@@Me-ks6euI believe we witnessed the rudeness with A: the assumptive pregnancy comment B: invading another woman's privacy and C: attempting to monetize the issue instead of admitting fallibility and apologizing, instead of making excuses. Funny thing is I wound up here researching Ernie Lively, a great actor and a real straight shooter whom apparently passed those skill sets on to his daughter:)

Everyone knew she was pregnant. I don’t think saying congratulations to someone you are interviewing is rude or weird (she didn’t grab her stomach). Blake honestly overreacted and was unprofessional by saying it back. I think her friend tried to lower the temperature by talking about her own lady bumps. She was obviously triggered and then couldn’t bring herself to get over it and accept that the interviewer obviously didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. This was actually a pretty normal professional interview with pretty basic comments and questions (and Blake chose to make it very awkward). This paints her in a bad light, as she is the one who had the unprofessional reaction and handled her own emotions badly. I do like Blake as an actress, but I think she was unnecessarily mean to this interviewer for her own quite clearly personal issues.. strangers can’t know your issues or read your mind. That’s why we have to give people the benefit of the doubt or tell them if they crossed a line they did not see. There is a kind way to say you are not comfortable talking about something and then there is a mean girl way to get back at someone very passive aggressively as done. How you treat the little people especially says everything about you.. but of course this could just be her being sensitive about her body. Yes.. Celebrities are people and can have bad moments, but they also should not get off the hook for clearly rude behavior. We shouldn’t let either be the norm in Hollywood. Also, I think she was writing for a fashion magazine.. so yeah she was guntz ta ask her about the fashion she wore in the movie. But they had to be so cringe about it. You’re asking about the clothes? I didn’t see that coming whoa

Don't worry, Kjersti! This actress was jealous of you! You're beautiful without that very heavy Makeup they are wearing! That's why BOTH didn't even look at you for long and mocked your interview right away! I can't stand these Hollyweirdos ...as they are! She was very rude! Arrogant to the core and unfriendly! Oh...and she dsn't like the honesty within you!

That's such a mindlessly basic take. Likely because that's your own behaviour and how you'd understand it. Superficial and to be honest it lacks any attempt at complex thought. It's an awkward interview, started not great, and they tried to use each other to maintain momentum in it hence why they focused more on each other.

Because there’s current drama surrounding Blake. I just think it’s sad, Blake probably doesn’t even remember this. While this lady has remained bitter all this time. It should take more than a few words that aren’t meant with ill intentions to make someone want to quit. As someone who has miscarried, I don’t have bitterness towards other women who don’t have or haven’t had that same struggle. Her clothing is baggy and again Blake didn’t know her past struggles, and maybe she could have left the congratulations out of it and just kept it about the movie. It was simply a comment, not earth shattering. Maybe she’s in the wrong line of work, I hope she is able to be a mother however that be. I also hope that she can find forgiveness and move past something that isn’t her fault.

The author is doubling down in her support for them, as some said, she is also an opportunist, using DV to get rich and not even addressing a serious topic but instead glamorizing it. Yes, we should refrain from imposing expectations on others and instead embrace their true selves. The most sensible approach is to distance yourself from individuals whose energy does not resonate with you, and instead, surround yourself with those whose vibes align with your own. Coz none of us wants someone else to a false idea of us the force us to become that idea of theirs. So I may not personally like Blake, but what I would do if I were to be at the same working fields with her is to hangout with those who are healthier for me, and let those individuals who resonates with Blake come to her.

I think the journalist did something behind the scenes even before she started the rudeness with her "bump" commentary. The women just read her and thought they could do this and they weren't wrong either obviously cause she was left speechless. I mean, who asks someone about their bump instead of their baby? It might be a translation problem (German) but that plus coupled with knowing the English-speaking women have the upper hand led to this seemingly rude ignoring. And honestly, if someone that I already find dubious starts an interview with me asking me about my bumps, in the presence of a friend, I'd start ignoring her too...until she gets a clue that we don't speak like that in English. I wish I knew what the journalist did to irk them...but she won't say cause she's shit.

Parker looked like she was trying to keep it lighthearted. I really don't see her at fault here; the interviewer was caught off guard by the remarks. I'm sure Parker was as well; the Interviewer was trained to remain calm, and professional, Parker is trained to be charismatic and fun for the interview. In retrospect she could have said or did something about it, but it's a lot easier to make that judgment years later watching it on replay from a distance. I know when I see people possibly digging a hole, I don't have much time to quietly analyze and start digging into them like a parent; sometimes it's best to roll with the punches and try to make it funny or not to make a big deal out of the situation at hand, in an effort to lighten the mood.

@amiyarose9140 agreed. Elsewhere on social media someone made the valid remark: most costume design departments are filled with predominantly female creators. They need to be lauded for the actual "role" that costume plays in film/theater. To "down dog" such a question is really downplaying the importance of it. Shame on Blake.

To break this down, the interviewer was only doing her job. There was a public pregnancy announcement of Blake. All she did was say, congratulations with genuineness. I believe the interviewer is connected to a fashion platform so, her questions are obvious going to relate to fashion. This was mean girl in the truest formats it kind of triggered how mean girls made me feel way back when. I did the same, pretend it doesn't bother you but deep down it makes you feel awkward and very small as a person. Hugs to her for standing up by posting this.

I believe the journalist’s question about the clothes was genuine. Blake has built almost her entire career around fashion and her image-through events like the Met Gala and frequent mentions of clothing in interviews. The journalist aimed to show interest and make Blake feel comfortable, but instead, she received a passive-aggressive response. I'm glad she stayed patient and didn't confront them. She handled the situation with class, giving the others an opportunity to display a broad range of arrogance and ignorance

@@ashkew7404right, that’s all she talks about which is so off putting as she’s missed the point of the movie completely. Maybe if she was encouraging women and even men to wear a flower or florals when they see it as a way to send a message of unity and compassion of survivors of DV but it’s not, she honestly thinks this a romantic movie and women should have a beautiful girly day out and go see if with their friends. Because make no mistake, the way Blake Lively and Parker Posey are acting in this video is mean girl behavior and the only reason you would attack this commenter and gaslight them about their own experiences is if you are guilty of the same behavior.

@@eatme123-g8y It's definitely possible, everyone has different perceptions and we aren't always attuned and unintentionally say things. These two women are different and what the OP recounts concerns that - deliberate ostracizing due to ego and power trips just because they can, or for an imagined grievance, and people will laugh and flock to them due to their popularity, status or money. Taking advantage of people who are quiet to demonstrate they can do what they want with impunity, treating them passive aggressively and cruelly since there's no repercussions, so that they and other can't actually call it out, and it make them doubt themselves.
