yes! hers maybe literally be the purest female country voice i have ever heard. and especially perfect for harmony...it doesnt get any better than the bluegrass-style harmony she does from 1:12 to 1:16. you know how vanilla extract is the most pure form of vanilla? well this song to me is country extract. just discovered it today and have probably listened to it 20 times!

Hal Rugg on that PSG making it walk the dog! If you don't know anything about music, the pedal steel is one of the most difficult instruments in the world to play. And Hal made it look easy, a true master of the craft.

This is real country music and I love the song!! The harmonizing is fantastic. They really were good together. I wish we had good country like this now. All I hear on country stations now is SAMENESS. I can't distinguish one voice from another...it's like they play the same record all day long. No thanks. I prefer George and Tammy!!!

I heard her voice described as "having a teardrop in her voice." I agree.
@gentlemanfarmer60422 жыл бұрын
@@angusm9419 Yes!! That is a perfect description, you can hear her "pauses" at the end of her phrasing.....truly sounds like you can feel her sadness. Two people couldn't have been made more perfect for singing each with each other than these two, there voices complement each other in a way thats hard to describe....match made in heaven!

Another from that short list is the steel break on Faron Young's "I Just Came to Get My Baby Out of Here" done live on the Porter Wagoner show. It's the end of the program, so they crank the tempo to squeeze the song in.

'only one way to describe Tammy's voice' There seems to be a "tear" in her voice, you can really catch it on a slow song. Tammy loved Jones all her life, G R and a few others broke that union up, Jones was fed drugs, Tammy was fed lie's, They loved each other till death, Now together forever singing for our King... The President and First Lady of Country Music!!!

George Jones was my favorite singer of all times. He was and will remain one of a kind. His song "He Stopped Loving Her Today" is the number one song of all time. The Bible promises a resurrection for the righteous and the un righteous. George had many problems but the wages of sin is death. I will look for him in the resurrection.
