No Sir… No Sir….The Movie Colors introduced LA Gang Culture to the rest of the US. I think that was in 1987. In NYC we laughed at it and thought beefing with the next man over a Color he was wearing or affiliated with was DUMB. Then Ice T, NWA, Cube, Quick, and Snoop got us even more acclimated to their scene. THEN Tupac linking about with Suge really glamorize the life style even more. Growing up in the NYC. The Vietnam Vets used to refers to us kids as Young Bloods or Bloods. And we also used to refer to out Blood Cousins as “Cuz” or “Cuzzo” If you think about-it both are terms of endearment that basically means family. And while in the 1980s we laughed at LA Gangs. By the 2000s NYC is full of Bloods and Crips, we even adopted Chicago Gangs Culture too. AND that’s why NYC is no longer on top. We evolved from the gangs of the 50s, 60s and 70s and Became Gods and Earths , Hebrew Israelites, Moors, Ansars, Zulu Nation. All “Knowledge of Self”Based Cultures Now in NYC it’s Triple Stage Darkness (Blind, Deaf and Dumb) like every where else.

Without giving my age this whole Blood thing is pretty new outside of the Bloods and Crips album. The industry used to be Crip heavy from Ceos to rappers and producers. Dj Quick was a lone wolf in the industry. Damm near All of the early West Coast rap pioneers was Cripping or Crip affiliated just ask Eazy E, Mc Ren, King Tee, WC, etc.

Growing up in the 90's, the West Coast gangs definitely had influence on gang culture across the United States. In my city there was a gang called the Ace Of Spades who aligned with the Crips. They were assholes and one of the largest sets in the city. Due to this, a small group of guys started up a gang called South Side Bloods to combat AOS. SSB was always outnumbered but they still stood their ground. To be a Blood in the 90's meant you had balls.

I’m from a city full of nothing but Bloods and Crips, and when I was growing up everybody had red flags throwing up Bs, the crips became the underdog. Lmao man as for New Orleans goes , we never had none of that. Only Latin Kings and them Latin Kings were mostly on the West Bank or in Kenner not exactly in the city. We wore every color headband and rag because California street politics got no play in New Orleans. They never claimed blue because their biggest rival at the time wasn't P, it was Chucc of Big Boy records ( Mystikal,G-Slimm,PNC,Tim Smooth,Ghetto Twins etc) and he was a Crip from California that moved to New Orleans to do music. So that theory goes out of that window. Also,B.G dissed Big Boy records and Mystikal for being Crip affiliates on the song True story. Baby and Wayne claimed Bloods not because of Mack 10 20 years ago after they left the city. Straight like dat. Signed a New Orleans nicca.

St Louis had B&Cs since the mid late 80s. One of the first cities outside cali wit it..check Cubes song..St Louis niggaz want they corner back! All cities had gangs forever but B&Cs made it EZ! Red/Blue-pick one! Got put on summer 92(11yo)! Bangin on wax was our soundtrack the summer of 93.. Most of these guys started they ride after cash money=Lil Wayne Bloods(LWBs)!! Places like STL, Little Rock, even NYC had B&Cs WAAAY B4! And 4 all u cali niggaz who say we do it wrong on the left side..we had other gangs like VLs&Gs..we merged..they started flamin and we broke to the left. Damus are still wit the Peoples.. which is a this way thing Chi, NYC Etc. Not wrong but couldn't dismiss The Nation! T Rodgers couldn't even do tht!!

Good video , however since 93 bloods n crips been in nyc , maybe most folks who didn’t grow up on the east coast would think we didnt know . But we did, I’m from Miami but have had close ties to nyc since a youth im 37 now . But in Miami we had bloods, crips, folks, in the 90’s n I know New York has had bloods since like 93 . After that it just exploded . Jim jones and dip set only made it public info . But great info in the video keep up the work brother Peace

It's nothing nice or extravagant about joining a gang respect to all gang members, but if you haven't already been in a gang before and wait years in life to become a gang member....why join? That's lame to me that's why some of those same artists don't get any respect from real gang members. I say you're doing to much to be noticed 💯💯

Chris Brown was affiliated wit the damu car at 15. His put on wit FTP was a transition from another set. He became affiliated when, as a teenager, he went to NY and was running wit The Homies. His moms pulled him away but he kept in contact wit a few. FTP was just the culmination of his affiliation.
