I think its a presumption that the movie implies any romantic interest between Ms Pretty and Brown. I think the invitation to dinner could just as easily be interpreted as the desire of a lonely widow to dine with a new friend and engage in some adult conversation.

All the scene between Mrs Pretty inviting Basil to dinner implies is that she was lonely. I didn't think there was any indication of a romance between them.

after watching the film it seems a shame that a popular trend of anything made after 2020 also has to address sexuality and race and history gets changed to revolve around these matters...Dr Who has gone just the same....fake history being told before our very eyes..

No joke- I am in the campsite next to sutton Hoo Right now- Today I went there and it was amazing! We got to stand on the mound where the ship was and I found out that 14 of the 18 mounds were looted with the one with the ship being a failed attempt to loot! It was such a fun experience! We Also say the (moulds) of bones from the medieval times! It was where the sand had covered the bones and the bones withered away! It was so fun and I had so many questions! Best experience ever and would 100% go again! It is a must see before you die!

This is a film and a different medium needs totally different, shorthand storytelling. We need to be entertained, and this is what films do, and documentaries usually don't. Taking a creative approach to any factual story is how we as an audience are drawn into the narrative. All that matters is that the film is good or it isn't. And this is - apart from the music score - a good film.

Netflix adding bs fluff ruined that movie for me. When it got off the dig and onto the bs love story, I turned it off.

The whole romance part felt fake and superfluous. I figured the gay part was just to meet diversity quotas. It's shameful and bad storytelling.

Films need some kind of visible tension between the characters, or we aren't interested in the story, and If the film has none, the audience isn't 'with' the film. That's why ALL films based on fact add fictional elements to the story. Most of the audience for this film has no clue about this event. So writers have to tell the 'true' story differently.

What is the purpose of this? Why does everyone want to rip movies to pieces? The film is just that.....a fact based film. Just leave things alone.....absolutely pointless and totally unnecessary
