wtf does a female being a gentlemen have to do with this interview? That either went over my head… or this interview guy threw that in to please the masses

Sorta just realized in the show he rarely if ever interacts with anyone BUT Winters. He has one interaction with Sobel and the West Pointer and that’s about it.

He was disliked 'coz he was different, and yeah, he was a guy that didn't want to kill other human beings, but anyway he did what he could to help and anyway helped kill other human beings, this apparently was eating him from inside and was scared, like everyone, and everyone process combat situations differently, he needed liquid courage; and was in the end, effectively a good soldier; just let him be

Now days politicians start wars and sends us off to fight them based on lies and we came back with scares like Albert did and the VA destroys us with nothing but opioidies and anti depressants to numb us but never fix us just destroy us the suicide rate for us is at a all time high but yet we are ignored by the same politicians who lied to send us off to die. I know how Albert felt because I am one of those soldiers.
@slayer693618 сағат бұрын
As a retired combat veteran this disgusts me that they defamed this great hero by not fully doing their own research by contacting the military or Albert's family. Albert is a hero and should have been treated as such. Albert you are an American hero.

I don’t trust anything you Jews say about American history. You sure everything to fit your narrative. The psyops on Americans by you Zionists is unmeasurable.

Nice piece. However, no one is "given" a Silver Star, Purple Heart, etc. They are earned. Unfortunately, those who never served can't seem to get this small but important distinction.

He actually was played pretty realistic to what he's saying. He seems cool, but if you had to deal with him every day, you probably wouldn't like him.
@paultrosclair1775Күн бұрын
Sorry but there is zero justification for this. Its murder and a war crime. When germans did that to our troops, thats what we called it and that's what it is. He may have been brave but he was also a murdering war criminal who should have been prosecuted for his crimes.

when the truth is good enough, just leave it to do its work. nothing takes away from a genuinely good story like getting caught in an unnecessary “embellishment”.

The story about the salute isn't actually correct. Donald Malarkey was being driven by Winters to go to Paris for some Airborne demonstration. The two were in an enclosed staff car, not a Jeep, so there wasn't a clear view of the occupants of the car. Winters then saw Sobel entering some building and pointed him out to Malarkey. Then he waited for Sobel to come out. Sobel saw Malarkey, came over to chat, and noted that Malarkey had been promoted to Sergeant. Sobel never saw Winters. Winters then piped up about the salute. Sobel was startled and immediately came to attention and saluted. Malarkey thought that Winters was being pretty petty about the whole thing.

My grandfather stormed a German machine gun position with nothing but a hand grenade and was shot and killed. After the war he returned home and met my grandmother Bernice. That's how me and my sister came to be. After I saw him storm the machine gun position my mom made me turn the video game off to come and eat dinner.

And NOW you know why we won WWII! By contrast, a Special Forces patrol in Afghanistan ended up in ALL members killed except for one. Reason? They were given orders not to kill "civilians" and when they were discovered by some village "shepherds" they let'em go. The rest is history. Remind me again how did it turned out for us in Afghanistan??!!!

@archangelliii25362 күн бұрын
That would be the 2nd inaccurate portray in that series and Ambrose book. The other being their missrepresentation of another great hero who also went to the Korean War, Cpt Soeble. He was portrayed as a villain incompetent dictator. He might not have been a brilliant tactitian like Cpt Spears or Major Winters but he was a darn good soldier in his capacity as trainer and administrator of supplies both of which are essential elements in winning wars. Thats really shameful that they mis-characterized or misrepresented two American heroes like Blithe and Soeble. I would even bet Spiers, Blithe and Soeble met in Korea with mutual affection and respect for each others but we will never know from Spielberg or Tom Hanks that's for sure.

The officer wasn’t allowed to delegate an NCOIC to warm up and do the calisthenics? Did he have to lead the entire group with no support?
