Another difference is the sizes of the POI’s and unnamed locations. In Chapter 4 the POI’s are huge and take a long time to rotate out of, in comparison to Chapter 1’s map, which the POI’s sizes are comparable to Unnamed Locations and there is simpler design. Tilted Towers for example, is half the size of Mega City from Chapter 4, and unlike Mega City you can go through every part of it. Also the towers from Mega City were just unnecessarily big.

The best part about chapter 1, for me, is the interesting and colourful items. Boogie bombs, clingers, dynamite, grapplers, rift-to-gos, shockwaves, flintknocks, boom bows, I could go on. The uniqueness of everything added in chapter 1 is way better than what’s been added in chapters 2,3 and 4. Hopefully chapter 5 adds more silly items like chapter 1.

shockwave hammers, grapple hooks, the katana, Business Turrets, inflate-A-Bull, Grab-itron, all the different fish u can get?, all the anime mythics and super powers, Sticky Grenade Launcher, slap juice, Ripsaw Launcher, Explosive Goo Gun, Recycler we still get interesting colorful items lol people either just don't use them because despite being fun their kinda a gamble and most of them unfortunately get vaulted after one season

​@supremeleaderfrancisco9062 I hear ya, but I think there's a difference between balloons, stinkers, shockwaves, flintknocks, hunting rifles, etc than the Ch4 stuff. A lot of the Ch4 stuff was either OP or in some way annoying to use or go up against. The Ch1 stuff is just simple and fun to use. Same goes for the vehicles. Cars vs Quads, ATKs, Drift Boards, Planes and Ballers is a land slide victory for Ch1. All that stuff is just way more fun to use. That's not to say everything about Ch4 was bad. I just felt like there was way too much going on, and a lot of the stuff was OP and had to be used, or was clunky and not fun to use. Simplicity and fun should be the focus, always.

The silly goofy items from chapters 1 AND 2 were the items that made fortnite fun. Chapter 2 I didn’t like in its times cuz I couldn’t accept the change, but looking back on it I would much rather take chapter 2 over 3 and 4. Chapter 2 still had most original guns and fun poi’s but also added a perfect taste for new items and map events. 3 and 4 just ruined the game and I will stand on that forever

I started playing towards the end of Ch 3 season 2 and having never played Ch 1 before, I gotta say that OG is the most fun I've ever had on Fortnite. So much so that I'm finding myself doing 4 hour plus streams with the time pretty much flying by. It's my favourite of the battle passes so far. I actually like things like the shield being harder to find. I myself prefer the cartoony art style and I'm enjoying the simplicity. Shock waving my friend in shopping carts etc. I'd love it if chapter 5 retained some of what makes OG so fun. All in all, I'm glad I got to experience this month in the game!

Commenting after playing Chapter 5, my god was this a disappointing release, I came back for the OG season and have had possibly more fun than when it first came out because of zero builds being available. But this new movement, new map, new bosses, medallions, stupidly fast time to kill weapons, lack of mobility or cover for zero builds, stupidly tall mountains, and more I could list, are the exact opposite of what makes the OG map and loot pool so fun. OG needs to be permanent, and I think if they do that, you'd be shocked when the player count for OG actually exceeds or matches the player count for the new season.

Yup I just played 2 games of the new season and I’m out. I hate the npc’s, weird music at the locations and cameras bots all that crap. Weird weapons. Simplicity is very important. also three to five years is wild. It should be an LTM every few months. I won’t be coming back until an OG mode is back

the return of og fortnite has brought back so many of my friends that barely play anymore and its mainly been because of the map for most of them. for me ive enjoyed the map as well but the loot pool is what made me enjoy this season so much more than the past 2 chapters. im really hoping epic pulls what they did in chapter 2 and keeps the vast majority of the og lootpool like the pump, tac, and normal ar/scar while adding new weapons as well. since the last two chapters of having weapons that are cheap copies of the originals arent new weapons and most of the time they dont feel the same.

For years on Reddit, I had so many people saying the Ch1 map was outdated, ugly, primitive, etc. Now that we're back, even newer players are loving this map. They just nailed this map. Epic had to make things more complex just so people would think the game was getting "bigger and better", but I think most have now realized after Ch4 that tons of detail and a realistic art style probably doesn't suit Fortnite. Hopefully Epic listens and dials everything back some.

The main reason that Fortnite: OG was made was because of the Chapter 4: End Event that happens every chapter. Epic wanted ALL eyes on the event because it would probably be the biggest event ever; Eminem, Lego, Racing Mode, End event, Storyline, New map etc, IN ONE EVENT. It also will bring nostalgia like mentioned in the video and it was so much simpler compared to Chapter 4 due to the map, items and much more. 👍

Fornite OG got me playing the game again. The season came and went BUT here I am chapter 5 still playing. I'm satisfied. If zero build wasnt here and the item pool in the game wasn't simple and digestible I wouldn't still be playing. Lego and rocket racing and everything else is cool and all but the fact of the matter is this; chapter 5 zero build loot pool is simple and the map feels similar to OG map as well. I like it.

I don't know what to think about this situation, on one side i can't see why the Ch1 Island couldn't be a separate Gamemode, Apex has many maps and it works for them, also WoW brought back a classic version separate from the main servers and it worked wonders for them... On the other side i'm hella worried about the Chapter 5, i don't know how all these 40 million players the season brought back are going to react to Augments, Swimming, Cars, Gold, NPCs, Wild Animals and such... I’ve seen a few comments saying “I’m from ch1 and I’ve got friends who started playing in ch2 or ch3 and they think og Fortnite is boring” which in my eyes proves that the game has gotten wayyy to complex over the past few years, I’ve also been playing and I’ve been enjoying it, not found it boring once and I’ve been having fun but that’s because I actually played back then when times were simpler. Theory: I personally think that jones didn't go back to the past, or well the same reality past, there's these things called "time lines" different realities but it's still a time wave length, I don't think kados time machine goes back in time, I think it goes to different time lines, think about it, he's killed oro, sliced Midas' hand off ect, and nothing has changed, after ALL he's done that we don't even know about, it didn't change what happened in the future, also I mean the house in Fatal Fields is now a barn, in the sand biome the rocky walk way isn't on the two mountains, also in the desert biome the cacti are gone just like how it happened after Kevin the cubes lightning struck, but there was no cube, and then out of nowhere the loot lake island with the cube appeared which makes no sense, and in the update drift boards are back despite not being added till next season, also leaks show that when the snow biome appears out of nowhere it won't cover greasy, and also season 9 won't have neo stuff, and there won't be lazy lagoon or volcanos for season 8, and the zero point will pop out from under the floating loot lake house, also take this as canon or not but if the stuff from og fortnite got sent to streamers houses how did they tap dance themselves back to the island, canon or not, this stuff isnt adding up

It's more complex because of the years of experience people have now... the play style isn't what was. I am glad to play this season as I didn't play in Chapter 1. I have noticed a ton of people showing off their season 3 or so battle pass emotes... some emotes I've not seen people use. The only gripe I have is to me, this season is way too hard with all the people who know the map better than people who don't. I tried builds to be more authentic but I get slaughtered by FNCS wannabes. It is especially hard for me to win... I have a string of 2nd and 3rd place games, but only 3 wins so far and no crowns. I do like the simplicity. I am glad there are no mythics! Either way... I'm making more memories. I think Chapter 4 was basically a showcase for the new engine and building the new creative. They may focus more on BR now that their experiment is off the gound.

People back then got to know every inch of this map, because back then, less people hot dropped. I've played a bunch of random squads this season, and people just drop Tilted or Salty. This is so unfortunate because this map is loaded with amazing POI and little nooks. Of course, when the map is only around for 1 month, I can see why newer players have little reason to explore.

This season is the most fun I’ve had since chapter 4 season 1. I agree with the points made here, Fortnite OG should come back every 2-3 years and the thing that makes it special is that it’s only gonna be here for month. I definitely agree with the idea of simplicity. part of what turned me away from fortnite was all the stuff. over abundance of collabs, HUGE maps, and just stuff that made the game fun. Not all about getting the most kills but using cool things like shockwaves to get high ground and break builds. I'm giving chapter 5 a chance but honestly it just isnt the same kind of fun. 100% agree. I started in chater 2, season 1. The OG map is trash. Nothing interesting, no real mobility and the water.. omg the water. Why add swimming if, later on, you cannot swim. It just feels counter-intuitive.

apart from swimming, i would be HAPPY if all of those wouldn't be in chapter 5. and im not some old man "old fortnite was better" person, i played through every season of 3 and 4 and loved it, yet those features have been in for so long it's just stale.

Honestly it's not even that much about og Fortnite that I liked about the og season. It's the simplicity, no npc, no cars, no crazy mythics. Just open a chest and use what you got

Season og was ruined for me. The didnt even bring back a SLITHER of the season 8 biome. And they added back the destroyed polar peak instead of full.

For me, this comes down to old Fortnite vs modern Fortnite. Tbh, Fortnite hasn't played or felt the same since we left Ch1, and after tasting old Fortnite again, many will not want to go back. Modern Fortnite is so messy, fast, rotation and loot literally everywhere, cluttered maps with cluttered gameplay. I don't want to choose perks every 3 minutes. I don't want to fight against hired NPC's. I want a simple map with a simple and fun loot pool.

I thought the Fortnite OG was the worst, after the first day I wanted to go back to the new map. It's important to note I never played on that map, I came to Fortnite in mid 2022 so my perception is different from OG. For me there were to many open areas, so it looked vanilla, boring, ammo was really difficult to find along with heals I was use to. I could run up to a car, but nothing, jumping from a distance into water and . . dead. I was use to the graphics and style of the late Fortnite, and I really like this new season.

I liked season og for a while. But i didnt start playing the game until chapter 3 which might be why i didnt enjoy season og that much. Going from super detailed locations with tons of ways to get items (vending machines, key boxes, vaults, etc.) To a much more simple map with locations that are all pretty similar to each other, just wasnt as good in my opinion. Idk thats just my opinion.

One thing that worries me is the map changes. With the season 6 update, NOTHING except the island came back, and the island is literally just a creative prop. It doesnt bounce you or shoot lightning or anything. Theres no castle, no corrupted zones, no other small map changes. Next week the snow will be smaller and the jungle will be missing entirely. It just feels like such a strange decision.

Agreed. They also left out iconic buildings in a few locations, the loot pools are somewhat neutered, and we got inaccurate models for the pump, burst, etc. Then they add Ch4 stuff to a season called "OG". Overall, I think they've done a great job recreating the experience, but there's been some head scratchers, for sure.

Id say that the main thing ch 5 needs, as ive and many other people has said, is to have good metas and weapons mainly ones that are fun, yet balanced, like the scar and maybe the striker burst, the scar has more versitlility, but the burst mire accurate, if both were in the same meta is that both have their pros and cons together, also LESS IS MORE EPIC, PLEASE, LEARN FROM HERE, THEN INPUT THAT INTO CHAPTER 5

I think chapter 5 is epic taking another attempt at Chapter 2 and is already a simpler season. I think epic deserves more credit than they get. I also agree season og shouldn’t stay and should be special instead. I also think those that returned if they leave the game will be as it’s been.
