It took Kelly longer to find her sound individually and to discover herself. Plus in the interim between Survivor and Destiny Fulfilled she was in an abusive relationship. So that effected her ability to come into her own as an artist as well. Michelle was always on the path of being a gospel artist. That's where her heart was and still is. She's very successful in that genre but you don't hear about gospel artists in the mainstream unless it's an award show, drama, or an appearance in a show or movie.

TLC got no lead because the each of them had a role. The fact is that Destiny's Child was built around Beyoncé, they followed the example of The Supremes.

Um yes they typically do. U may not be able to tell all the time but every group zone in on one persons vocals. Using them more for backgrounds, adlibs..even if 5 members like the backstreet boys. Even though 3 sang, Brians tone and vocals were the main sound of them. Same for beyonce!

Coco sang every single part (except the background vocals and harmonies) in all of SWV songs, same with Nicole Scherzinger and the Pussycatdolls. Justin Timberlake and sometimes JC Chasez sang most of the solo's and leads in Nsync etc. so you are dead *wrong* PLENTY of groups have lead singers. Where do you think term came from? People always act like Beyonce singing lead was so wrong or so unheard of when its actually really common in a lot of singing groups just like the list of famous ones I just provided.

If it was Beyonce and the girls, none of these former Destiny's Child members would have been able to stand on their feet alone in the music/film industry like they have thus far. Michelle just released an album. LeToya is going to reprise her role on Single Ladies and has 3 films in post-production. Kelly, is on a break because she is pregnant but had everyone singing Motivation and was hosting X-Factor. All recent accomplishments. Latavia is getting her voice back together and is working on her music. When I think back to N'Sync, The Pussy Cat Dolls, 98 degrees, unlike DC, only really one person made it out of each group. So what, Beyonce became the biggest star? For the rest of the girls that worked hard and kept their stuff together, they are still working in entertainment and are talented. No need to discredit them because they didn't sing lead. Some of these women have more active careers and get more airtime than people that did sing lead during the explosion of boy bands and girl groups. If they were just "the girls", were pointless, and never destined to really become successful in the industry, why has Wendy recently interviewed LeToya, Michelle and Kelly on her television show...
