Think about it, if Elena decided to listen to Kol Silas never would have been raised Silas never kills Jeremy Elena never turns her emotions off The Veil would never be weakened The veil would remain in tact The Travelers would have never shown up Damon has no need to sacrifice himself No Kai, Damon and Bonnie wouldn't be sent to his prison world No Heretics, no Kai=no knowledge of the Ascendant Katherine never turns human nor dies=no Cade showing up to Mystic Falls Legit, listening to Kol would have stopped most of the threats that happened to Mystic Falls.

Basically this creates a whole new parallel universe just by listening to Kol but what would actually happen if they had listened to Kol is still unknown since you know everything else was relevant to the main story and stuff like that so I theorized that if they had listened to Kol maybe they would face the Mikaelsons again or join in the fight against Marcel in the Originals since you know the Originals takes place after Klaus vowed to never come back to Mystic Falls to Caroline and then he left to New Orleans to take back his throne in The Originals .

Am i the only one who hated klaus in TVD for not doing right by kol and letting his murders literally walk free as if nothing happened, and Rebekah for working with her brothers killers like they didn’t just kill him 24 hours ago. Worst part is we all know that every original has killed people for far less and yet when their own sibling dies they all but ignored it, i bet if it was elijah that died klaus and rebekah would have burned mystic falls to the ground. This clearly shows how little his own family cared for him. But the worst of them all was elijah because at least klaus and Rebekah pretended to care.
