An even better option? The 32303HD at our Lowes also had the 11/32 instead of the 9/16, so we got the $20 32933G 7-in-1 Impact Flip Socket Set with the 9/16 that we prefer and paired it with the $22 32303 14-in-1 Adjustable Length Screwdriver (which does have the new carousel center divider and back stop). For only $2 more than the $40 32303HD, we get everything that the 20-in-1 has plus the 32933G includes a T25 and the 32303 adds another impact rated adjustable length blade (and that one has a permanent magnetic stainless steel bit holder, not the less solid sliding socket). Having the two blades also allows the height of our screwdriver to be much smaller since the non-sockets blade can hide in the 32303 handle.

Got the same exact set up going on! Glad I’m not the only one.
@projectpinehills Жыл бұрын
@Sixpathsoflight I did the exact same thing. The regular 14-in-1 magnet 🧲 magnetizes any bit you put into it more so than the the 7-in-1. so that’s another benefit for $2 more. 👍

One change that I really like on the 20-in-1 is that Klein added a center divider on the bit carousel, so the bits don't slide into one another like they did on the 14-in-1. The bit carousel on this 20-in-1 looks a lot like the one on the smaller Klein 27-in-1 Tamperproof precision screwdriver. Evidently, Klein also updated their 14-in-1 adjustable screwdriver with the new bit carousel.
@projectpinehills Жыл бұрын
Exactly! I noticed they did that since I did the Klein 14-in-1 fail video. Not only keeps the bits from striking each other, but also keeps them from sliding out when you open it. It's also like the megapro carousel.

@@projectpinehills Agreed! A massive improvement in my opinion. You’re right, that MegaPro carousel is fantastic. 👍

There are two versions of the 7-in-1 with different socket sizes and a new 9-in-1 flip socket set where the smallest three sockets are the same as those in one of the 7-in-1 sets. The 9-in-1 one comes with the set that includes the 9/16ths socket.

Yes it is. The whole Klein section at Lowes is nice. Notice the carousel has been completely redesigned since I did the 14-in-1 fail video and they added a divider between bits. The 7-in-1 with 9/16 flip socket have an updated shape too. Good to hear from you! 👍

I've been using one of these for a while. My only complaint is that when you just want to use the sockets and take out the bit on the end, there is no empty spot in the handle to place it. You have to set it down, put it in your pocket, etc.
@projectpinehills Жыл бұрын
I agree. I removed the least used bit from the handle to address that issue. Thanks for watching!

I do like mine but the one gripe I would say is, everything is loose , the shaft wiggles a bit much when all sockets are on bc it forces you to use the last adjustment, the sockets move back & forth sometimes, & the bit holder sockets slides back causing the bit to fall sometimes, still dig it but I’m js imo

Bought this 20-1 at local Lowes last week. I ordered online and picked it up at store. What I got is 9/16 socket. I went into the store and found 20 sets in stock, but all of them have 11/32 socket instead of 9/16. I could not figure out the reason. btw, it was on sale at $29.99.

Interesting, I guess they originally offered the 20-in-1 with the 11/32 socket but now they offer it with the 9/16 socket. The Lowes store probably has older stock in inventory. Thanks for watching!

Hmm, well, overall Klein did a nice job updating and upgrading this screwdriver. However, there’s a pretty noticeable downside for me. I just bought this 20-in-1, went home to test it, and realized the magnetic tip doesn’t magnetize the included Klein bits (when the 1/4” socket is configured to accept a bit), so it doesn’t magnetize a screw(s). I tried using my Milwaukee bits that are magnetized and that does help a bit, since the screw does hold onto the bit, although it's very weak. I’ll have to give it some thought on whether I should return it or not. It’s still a very versatile set-up, but magnetic strength of the bits is high on the priority list. I could get the 14-in-1 (who knows, maybe that doesn't magnetize the bits either), but that loses a lot of versatility compared to this 20-in-1. Have you tested the magnetic strength of your 20-in-1 screwdriver with the 1/4” socket configured for bit holding using the included Klein 1/4” bits?
@projectpinehills Жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. I have not tested it yet but I will. I also use a magnetizer to improve strength if need be. 👍 Thanks for commenting!
@tcatrccreations Жыл бұрын
@@projectpinehills I may have to resort to using my magnetizer as well, which isn’t a huge deal, but I prefer not to. Ha-ha. When you have time, test the magnetic strength of the screwdriver with the Klein bits. It caught me off guard a bit, and is a little disappointing. What this whole thing reminds me of is the Klein 32500HD 11-in-1 Impact screwdriver because the section that has a magnet that’s used with any 1/4” bit DOES not magnetize the bit. That was a massive oversight in my opinion on that 11-in-1 screwdriver. In this day in age, if there is a magnet on the holder for the bit, it needs to be strong enough to magnetize the bit as well.
@projectpinehills Жыл бұрын
Ok, I tested and you are right. The 14-in-1 does magnetize the bit a lot more than the 20-in-1 and the 14-in-1 HVAC. 👍
@tcatrccreations Жыл бұрын
@@projectpinehills Thanks for checking! I truly appreciate it. Now I have to find magnetic bit holder from that Klein 14-in-1. I don’t think it’s sold separately any where, but I’ll look. I could return the 20-in-1 for the 14-in-1 and then purchase the socket set separately. However, the 14-in-1 screwdriver and 14-in-1 HVAC screwdriver for whatever reason STILL have the tapered chrome push button, while the 7-in-1 screwdriver and 20-in-1 screwdriver have the flat black push button. I have no idea why, but it is what it is. I happen to like the look of the flat black push button better than the chrome and the flat black push button appears to go down a bit deeper into the handle than the tapered chrome one. What’s also odd is that Lowes has their picture of the Klein 14-in-1 screwdriver and Klein 14-in-1 HVAC screwdriver with the flat black push button and not the tapered chrome. It’s odd because at the time of this writing my local two Lowes has them with the tapered chrome push button (I checked two local Lowes stores). Maybe they’ll change over time.

@projectpinehills11 ай бұрын
I can see your point but I think it comes down to your work routine. If you are working multiple floors for building maintenance for example and need to pack light, I think it's perfect. I don't use it in this with all the sockets on the hex rail. It's really more about socket storage than running it in this configuration. I like to run it without the 2 extra flip sockets and lower the shaft into the handle. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
