I swear by my icepicks for tool kits, I've made multiple versions in different sizes, it's basically a very thick and long Awl so that it can be used for prying, scraping, punching holes, scribing, positioning etc Even for making additional holes in people if needed ;)
@EYALAVRAHAMI2 жыл бұрын
@@---Michael--- i think that a screwdriver can do it all. Not that an icepick is big or heavy but yet.

That’s a great kit, I have some Knipex already and just got the Wera Tool-Check Plus today and made a small but very significant mod to it already. I put a hole under the head of the ratchet so I can store it with the 1/4 inch adapter ready to go. To use a socket I don’t even need to open the main compartment. This is how I went about it. With the ratchet in place I poked a hot straight pick tool down the middle of the ratchet hole. First just left a mark then checked for concentricity and adjusted before making a hole, then I proceeded to make the hole bigger with successively bigger drill bits but by heating the blunt end. I let it cool and removed some melted bits between each drill bit, ending in a 9mm hole that came out pretty neat. The adapter lines up fair perfectly with the bit hole beneath it and I place the smallest Allen head bits in front of it. The main compartment closes properly and can be accessed without removing the ratchet. It basically looks factory, no one without the kit would even tell.

Awesome kit. I am inspired to assemble my own. I will add a size 14 socket (Japanese cars and bikes) to the wera set and stainless locking wire (normally used to secure aircraft nuts etc) instead of trapping wire. Also will add an high output lighter and a small (gel type) glue tube. Those knipex wrenches are also mandatory I guess. I have the larger one already and love it.

My trailer is only 20 ft long but is a bunkhouse model that sleeps 5, so it doesn't have a lot of storage space. I have been wanting to find a small but useful tool kit to keep inside the travel trailer for quick easy fixing tools so I don't always have to try it out. The full toolbox. B) VIM HBR1046. On one end of it an adjustable locking head holding a 10mm that comes with a 3/8 head. On the other end is a 1/4 inch bit same adjustable locking head. Both bits are removable, both ends have the thumb stud on the back you like, and overall a very slim profile. However, it is 10 inches long so if it wont fit in your bag completely understandable. But a lot of options in a compact design.

Need some loctite in there. Small container of it. Considering this is just a small repair kit, and nothing heavy duty is being fixed with this. You just need the low strength stuff. Not medium or higher. Also put some on your glasses screws :) Might also want to consider a knife. Svord makes a lightweight peasant knife at 2.5 inches. I find it very handy. Nice steel, easy to sharpen. It's very cheap. I ended up buying a half dozen of them and just leaving them in drawers and garage and vehicles.
