Hi Patrick, Kleinbahn made some very good Steam Locos and are simple to prepare for a service as you have shown. I am surprised to see a modern Can type motor instead of the ringfield type, this should be a smooth runner. I have a number of Kleinbahn Steamers with the older motors that run superbly. Good to see a video on these Locos instead of just Hornby,Lima etc. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏

@@paulvozman842 I made a short with a test run last night. After cleaning the pick-ups (tomorrow's video)it has become extremely smooth running.

@@railway187 another episode is coming up tomorrow evening. I've just filmed another three. The layout is coming out soon and I want to give this locomotive a full test.

Very nice locomotive, I like the Kleinbahn loks quite much, yet I do not have one so far. Looking forward to see how it will work after servicing it. PS . It seems the FS also had this D120, as the Gr. 876 in its service. Very nice!

@@Cristake1974 I can anticipate that after servicing it's a super smooth runner. This Taiwanese can motor is excellent and I think it's a 5-pole. This locomotive has the most modern motor in my collection!

I have wondered what kind of drive these have and now I know. Thanks.

@@ArcadiaJunctionHobbies the ringfield motor version has the same worm drive and gear (maybe the drive gear is brass on the older models)

Its very freely based on a kkStB class 229, the later ÖBB 75. Some hobbyists used them as a starting point to build a more accurate 2-6-2 class 229. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/KkStB_229 For this model Kleinbahn simply re-used the chassis of their German class 80 0-6-0.

@@herborty8658 I can see how they could stretch it out into a Class 229 2-6-2, that's very interesting, thanks for the link!
