Very interesting: My family in Nicolaus had a last name of Peter, May, Gobel (Gabel), and my grandmother Agnes Supan (Peter). My great grandfather Adalbert Peter, moved from Nicolaus to Red Bank (northwest). She later went to Red Bluff where she married and had four children. They all were from Hesse state in Germany.

Wow! That's cool! There were a lot of Peters there, too... I'll keep my eye out for those names as I meander around the area. And I'll check past cemeteries I visited. I might have a pic or two. I appreciate you sharing! Thanks for the comment! - Muddypaw

Hm. There are only two in the valley within a 75 mile radius that I know of ... but not a bad idea, Ralph. I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks for the tip. - Muddypaw
