Hunnam (Jax) was doing some weird method-actor crap during these first two years where he wouldn't talk to or look at Perlman, so that "their on-screen chemistry would be more authentic" -- between this friction and Ron's own opposition to the villainous wife-beating turn, Perlman disliked most of the show, and has since distanced himself from it. The weird sarcastic attitude (which Perlman still manifests, to this day, when asked about SoA) is symptomatic of disenfranchisement. Notice how he immediately ends his flippant answer with "I'm sure Charlie will correct me now." Coates (Tig) and Rossi (Juice) still make reference to this on their Reaper Review podcast -- they talk vaguely around "the difficult atmosphere between those two," and how it made the show a little harder, despite the other real-life friendships.

Watched the final season where most of the cast die. I was cool until that last scene in which Jax rode into the front of that semi. Cue tears! I was a late starter with SofA, didn't even start watching until just last month (June 2021), then main-lined all seven seasons. Watched the first episode and was instantly hooked. I rarely get emotional when a series comes to an end, but knowing that Sons will never come back to the screen, and worse, all the characters I really loved are dead anyway, just made that last episode nearly too much to watch. We need to do a Bobby Ewing here and bring everyone back (showing my age now). That said, I still feel that it could be rebooted with Chibbs and Co.
