This isn't a car, it's still a plane. A very low-profile, more comfortable plane, but still a plane with an impressively short takeoff range. There is very much a market for small planes, so I see this potentially replacing private prop planes, especially if you can get an amphibious version.

Serious engineering question here: Either in car mode it need all three lanes of a motorway to itself, or the wings must come off, in which case it's just a 'car' albeit with bolt on wings and a propeller. I don't see where the wings are supposed to go when it's on the road. Do you have to put those on a separate trailer?

@@glennmglazer Excuse me? You're saying that this plastic piece of trash is safer than my SUV? This plane will crumple into a thousand pieces from a single impact taking the pilot with it. This would not survive any kind of collision. This plane is super lightweight and fragile. It also has a VERY limited range on the few batteries that run it. It can't go very far on the road or in the sky because if it could, it would be way too heavy due to all the batteries it has to carry- the weight of those batteries would require massive reinforcement which would weigh it down even more. Electric vehicles way over twice as much as internal combustion engines because of the batteries. This flies because it carries a very small battery pack. Don't plan on leaving your airport! So no... the fragility of the lightweight construction, the lack of range, the lack of heavy reinforcement around the batteries it does have (that all EVs are required to have) and the fact that it lacks standard lights and other safety features means that this is not a car.

@@deydraniadiancecht8298 No, I didn't say any of those things, stop putting words in my mouth. This vehicle is clearly a prototype, just as the first cars and first SUVs were prototypes. Eventually the legal system got caught up to those inventions and made them street legal when it was safe to do so, when they were well beyond the prototype stage. All I am saying is that saying something isn't street legal isn't a fair criticism of a prototype and certainly doesn't recognize the history and evolution of transportation and transportation laws. And what is street legal or not is completely irrelevant to @hersirirminsul's original question.

People talk out of their ass, use logic, this certainly won't be a viable model to use in our daily lives, however this is a first step to making better, more aerodynamic, and efficient and safer flying cars. Cars that wouldn't require one to become a pilot, cars that would be safer to drive in mass. This is simply a template on which future innovators can build from. You would thing we started with rockets that would land but guess what, we started with sending stuff into space using one time rockets, than the same rockets took us to the moon, now we have self landing rockets that send stuff to space, than we will get self landing rockets that can take us to moon. Progress and innovation takes time, you should criticise things, not talk out of your ass.

Taking off and landing in a regular car roads is the key point of a flying car. We would appreciate that type of demonstration. And I am sure that is what required to convince people who don’t own their private runway.
