Thank you. This video of you opening up the diverter helped me understand where water was leaking from the diverter seal that it didn't seem to affect much in the gear section with a small leak from the seal.

My kind of guy sticking 120v on the motor like that. Thumbs up!

Thank you!! I checked mine with 110volt on the leads and nothing happened. It confirmed what suspected all along. So nice to have a simple test instead of buying parts.

Hi klettetech I have a problem with that motor my kitchenaid dishwasher has a leak around that part it was leaking water when it was running

My diverter is working. But I found out, that the position of the plate with the hole is always different. So I assume, that the internal switch is not working properly. Correct? How can I be sure?

Iv been looking all day for a way to test my diverter.. So if I cut a cord, expose the wires and plug it in, touch the contacts I should be able to check the motor... If the clicking doesnt happen then the micro switch is bad...Right so far?....
@KletteTech3 жыл бұрын
That is right or the gears have gone bad. Hope the video helps. Be very careful when touching the live wire to the contacts.

If you had a leak the water can damage your connections or the micro switch that the cam activates. My microswitch was damaged by water and was not functioning. This will make diverter operate incorrectly and may case it to run the motor constantly. He shoud have checked the switch too. check for on and off as cam pushes switch.

Came across your response about micro switch, did you check that with a meter on Continuity ? Mine also was leaking not sure now if it's the motor or micro switch, it would be cheaper to replace those two parts motor and switch. Then buying the whole unite. Looking to dig into this today. Do you know if i have to remove all inside tub components like sprayer arm and everything underneath that to remove the whole diverted assembly from underneath. Or can I just remove from underneath without touching anything on the inside of tub. Thank you for your help

How did u use the 120v? Just 2 wires in your outlet?

Great video, my diverter checked out but now I have a leak near the bottom middle of the washer. Rechecking the seals.

Could this be the source of a groaning sound my whirlpool makes throughout the cycle, Thanks

Another way to test the diverter is to actually test if dishwasher supplies 120V to the diverter. I have hooked up multimeter to blue connector on the diverter and got 10V 60Hz. It seems I am not getting 120V 60Hz. So what is the next thing to check? Do you have another video?

my diverter is leaking thru rusty simmering. I have great idea. . 😊

Thanks for posting video, do i have to remove everything on the inside of dishwasher, sprayer arm .... or can i just remove motor from underneath thank you
@KletteTech9 ай бұрын
If I remember correctly you can remove the motor from the bottom
@nickpanhead72099 ай бұрын
@KletteTech yeah it's definitely from bottom. But a lot of videos show removing all the stuff on lower part of tub. The wash arm and everything else underneath that. Then remove motor from underneath. I was just trying not to remove all the insides stuff. But thank you very much for getting back to me I really appreciate it

Have you found problems in the main board when it shows diverter can find position? E9f1 is the error code. I think I've got to check the main board.
@KletteTech2 жыл бұрын
It was the pump on mine. I should have just replaced it but I was over thinking it.
@chadr002 жыл бұрын
@@KletteTech yeah the pumps on these dishwashers has some graphite bushings that wear out and then the motor doesn't work properly anymore. I make replacement bushings to keep those motors alive but now I have a few dishwashers that I think the main board is a problem so I'm going to see if I can figure out the components that are not working

Is that gear noise normal? Mine makes that grinding sound when it’s running too and it bothers me.

I dont think it is suppose to grind

My dishwasher is still leaking after I changed out the diverter seal. Could it be that the diverter motor is bad?

Could be

What does the switch do? To turn the pump on, I presume.

What did you use to test the diverter? Wire tester or did you have a volt tester?
@KletteTech3 жыл бұрын
I very carefully attached a cord that supplied 120volts.

glad i watched this video before i ordered a $60 part. ok not the diverter but water coming from around it. I assume seal/Grommet?
@jennpotts35123 жыл бұрын
So did you ever figure out what was wrong with your dishwasher? Mine was doing the same thing and my diverter is fine and the pumps.
@KletteTech3 жыл бұрын
Yes. It was the pump. I tried to fix the pump but created a leak. It worked but was leaking so I ordered a new pump and so far so good.
@flooey5803 жыл бұрын
@@KletteTech My dishwasher is making a "groaning" noise right after I hear that click. It lasts for a few seconds then stops, then repeats a while later. Do you think this is the pump or could it be the diverter motor? I replaced the grommet last year, and put some grease on the shaft but that doesn't sound like it could be the issue - teh shaft itself turns pretty slowly and I don't think it would make that much noise. Thanks for any input!!

1:16 "this is the slightly aahh you gotta be comfortable with this" (what?) Oh. 1:42 Yeah I'd think of a better way to do this!

what about to pull this shite out, then seal the hole, and let it click and turn outside catched somewhere on the bottom?😂 Im just gpin to try it. Otherwise its leaking and the plastic hole where is the simmering is cracked. this is the only option😅 Many dishwasher even dont use this crappy lil motor so just let it turn under😂
