Man im getting so nostalgic just remembering going to Sound Warehouse, (a tape and cd store sadly gone now from the US) and musicland to get my weekly refill of blank tapes for recording and dubbing. I miss those days as a kid. I really loved those curved and tinted cases they put the chrome and metal tapes in!

Recently purchased this and while it’s relatively expensive for an fx app it’s quite good. I wouldn’t use it on the master but it’s good on individual channels to give an analog sound. I recommend playing with the input and output dials as these effect the saturation effect. And I don’t advise just keeping the mix on 100% as it’s good to mix in the dry signal, and if you overload the input and output you don’t need much for the mix (but keep the motor quality on full to avoid phasing).

Mark B Wait, so if I keep the motor quality on full, that'll stop my track from fading in and out?? That shit has been extremely frustrating for me

Hey Jacob, I purchased the Klevgr DAW cassette via your link. I think this is no longer a thing (I hope not) but figured I would purchase it through your link, in the hopes that you could a commission. Love your channel!

Aw, thank you! But as you feared, it’s no longer a thing. Apple removed the Affiliate program for apps and in app purchases back in August/September 2018. But I really appreciate what you were trying to do. Thank you! 👊🏼😊

@@JakobHaq Thanks for getting back to me. I realized this is Deja vu, I've asked you this before but keep forgetting that it is no longer...they should bring it back...you guys are doing passionate product reviews and deserve a little love.

It sounds very good but I think the modulation (low Motor Quality) is too clean. Sounds like a regular triangle LFO (3:13) but I wouldn't expect that from an old motor.

I'm also a sucker for nostalgia and like the dev so picked it up. Might be a bit pricey for the effect but hey, Klevgr rocks, right? Niche market and all that. Next up Speak And Spell AU? :)

The LFO on the motor quality control sounds too consistent and too fast to me. They should give you different LFO shapes and speeds to choose from.
@JakobHaq6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I would like a bit more variety too. They could add another LFO to automate the shape and speed of the LFO already in there.

Hey I have an idea take your 40 bucks and buy a tape recorder for 5 bucks at your local thrift shop spend that other 35 in something useful
@JakobHaq6 жыл бұрын
hallowed yeah I hear you, but I already have an awesome deck kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3eqZ3yBic6ShM0 . Oh and the app is only $20 bucks on iOS. Besides, you’d have to know a lot about DIY electronics in order to hack a deck to add controls for adjusting the “type” of tape sound you want, plus it used decks can many times be way too noise and have stuff broken etc. For many people that’s not an option and so an app is they’re best choice.
