I love that you not only teach the signs but also how to use them in a sentence. Thank you.

I’m a musician by night, but by day I run a bbq business, and I cater a lot of nights during the week to a chicken plant, and there is some dead people working there. And I see them get frustrated that no one can talk to them. And they have to get their phones 📱 and write out what they need to say. So I’m learning sign as fast as I can

I watch your videos in my free time as I wanted to start learning sign language a while ago. I, nor no one in my family is deaf, mute, or hard of hearing, but I decided to give learning it a try in case I ever meet someone who uses sign language, and also because knowing another language couldn't hurt. And it's been so fun learning all of these signs! I even use a couple with my little brother like "no," "stop," and I've even shown him the alphabet before

Hello. I absolutely love and appreciate your channel. Thank you for what you do! I have a question about ASL grammar, specifically regarding "relative clauses" and "subordinate and coordinate conjunctions." I am a linguist and foreign language teacher. So It's been my thinking that these concepts that we use in verbal language may potentially not be what they are called in ASL ( For example, it's possible that these concepts may fall under another syntactic categorical umbrella such as topicalization, etc..). But if these are concepts that are used in ASL, do you know of a book that I could buy that could go into more detail about how they are applied? Because of my background, I desire to identify the scope of all categories of ASL grammar/typology and would love a great resource that can help me with that.

I am studying beginner ASL. My instructor signs as she's explaining...everything is signed. Do you have videos wherein you sign as you're talking or do you only sign the word(s) you're teaching?
@LearnHowtoSign Жыл бұрын
I sign and talk in some videos specifically when there’s a live audience or when interacting with a deaf or hard of hearing individual. That is Sim-Com which is not ASL, it’s more signed exactly English. Since we utilized CC on KZbin and teach ASL, we decided not to confuse Grammar and structure by using Sim-Com. Teaching completely voice off like many Deaf or signing with a voiceover are other ways I could teach. This is just the format we chose for KZbin and have stuck to it.

Why are you hearing ppl teaching asl signs it is not ur place to really unless ure a certified asl teacher why teach asl sign let the deaf people who is asl fluent teach Its deaf s culture . all hearing persons think they have the privilege to do this some of your signs is not accurate. Not mean to be rude but. It’s Deaf culture and needs more Deaf awareness

The Importance of signing with injured or medically muted ppl is inmeasurable ! I was intubated 15y ago and could not speak, I was in a coma for four months, I had to sign to make myself understood, pain, sister, headache, sad, angry. I could not do any signing since my hands were tied to the bed sides due to unknowingly pulling out my many tubes, in delirium. I remembered the finger alphabet I learned in 6th grade after watching the Helen Keller story, miracle worker. All I could do was finger spell, but my sister knew abc/ spelling, too. That's all I could do. It's now, as I look back, the MOST enduring of my recovery, that, had I not known even that small skill, I would have been isolated, feeling destitute, angry and left alone, no one understanding. Angry. However Just knowing those simple 26 single gestures, made my muted time, not a hell, but a life changing journey, one that only my sister, Nancy, and I can remember. I can't say enough about the importance of signing, or. 🫶 communicating with ppl of ALL AGES, and situations. ❤️🩹
