So excited for all homeschooling students. I've waited so long for something like this to come out. I thought my daughter and younger home schoolers over 15 years ago. I wonder if any of them are still using any of it. Singing games were the best part of teaching the younger children. Thank you for creating this program. God bless you and your family. 🤟🦋

This is so cool! Thank you for helping us learn, I'm hearing and learning for a deaf friend and family member, and I'd like to make ASL more common in my circle. Been watching your videos for years, and I can say I am so much better with it then when I started. Thank you for everything you do❤

When ever the granddaughters are over they have homeschooling including ASL. She has me watch Meredith's teaching videos to help me. She uses Meredith's videos herself and our granddaughters. Thank you Meredith

Thank you!!! As a fellow interpreter, I’ve been recommending your channel along with a few others to my homeschool community. Now I’ll be recommending THIS!

Do you have a program adjusted for adults learning as well? (I think this could work but I mean ones that help with adults that don’t have a bunch of kids worksheets if you know what I mean)

This new homeschool curriculum is an addition to our existing Accelerated program. Within Accelerated we have 7 courses and are working to add more which are all geared towards ages 12+ It doesn't include fun coloring sheets, but is probably more what you're looking for 😉 learnhowtosign.com/accelerated/start

I'm an Instructional Aide for integrated preschool 3 to 5 years old. Can I use this to help them
@LearnHowtoSign7 ай бұрын
Absolutely. You'll probably lean more towards teaching the vocabulary and skip the grammar and culture so that it's more age appropriate. The Vocab and activities section would work great though.

I’ve been wanting to get my family to start learning to sign too! Although my sister and I are both in high school now (and homeschooled), I think this would be a great way to incorporate ASL into our daily routine, thanks Meredith!

If I purchased your lifetime plan does that mean the homeschool curriculum will also be able to be accessed forever? If there are changes made do you get the updated version as well? Thank you!

What do you think about the perspective that hearing people should let Deaf signers teach others ASL because it’s their native language and when hearing signers teach ASL it takes opportunity away from Deaf people?
@LearnHowtoSign7 ай бұрын
We do think that hearing teachers should step out of the way for qualified Deaf ASL teachers at schools. really the school/institution should choose the Deaf over hearing, but they aren't always educated, so the hearing teacher should step aside. However, there aren't always qualified or willing Deaf able to step up in that role, especially in smaller communities. Learn How to Sign started as a family channel called K&L Family Time and we made a couple of ASL videos with our kids. We weren't pursuing it initially, but what we found was there was a need for the more casual learners, elderly people going deaf, parents of Deaf children, special need students and more that needed a lower barrier of entry into learning ASL. Many learners find it easier to start with voice-on instruction. Most of those learners never care to become fluent, but just to learn a few signs to make a Deaf customer or classmate feel loved. So with us fulfilling this felt need and not taking away opportunities from Deaf to teach on ASL (because anyone can upload a KZbin video) we felt it wasn't only appropriate to do, but necessary to do. There are a few that have expressed their objection to it, but that's the 1%. It's the 99% of encouraging comments/messages that keeps us going. It's the emails we receive of families having language for the first time, the pictures of students in a nursing home learning together and the members of our program that are now enrolled in college studying to become an interpreter's that confirms that we are fulfilling our calling. We also employ a Deaf instructor, point many students to Deaf teachers like Bill Vicars, highlight Deaf history and pop culture, encourage students to get involved in the Deaf community among other things. I know this is more than you were asking for 😃 but we're happy to share.

Hi if I get the 33 dollar membership can my whole family use it. Or do we have to pay xtra for every member of the family?We are homeschoolers.

Your whole family is able to use the homeschool curriculum but if you want to use the other courses (ASL 101-401 & Mini-Courses) available and track progress you would need an account for each person.
