*1= Linear garage door openers manufactured from 1997 to present.
*2= Chamberlin, Sears, Craftsman, LiftMaster, Master Mechanic and Do it garage door openers manufactured from1997 to 2004 (Orange learn Button)
*3= Same as *2 above, but manufactured from 2005 to present with a (Purple learn Button)
*4= Same as *2 above, but manufactured from 1993 to 1996 with a (Green learn Button)
*5= Genie Intellicode and Overhead Door garage door openers manufactured from 2005 to present (315 MHz).
*6= Same as *5 above but manufactured from 1995 to present (390 MHz).
*7= Stanley garage door openers manufactured in 1998 to present.
*9= Wayne Dalton garage door openers manufactured in 1999 to present.

It's really easy to reprogram your unit: Step 1. Hold down the (*) and the (#) keys until the keypad stops flashing. Step 2. Enter your (4) digit PIN and press (0), for Genie and Overhead door units press (0) twice. To test and use wait for light to go out on keypad, Enter you PIN and press (0). Note: If opener doesn't function repeat programming.

I have a Genie unit. Was here when I moved in. I have no Learn button. Any ideas?

​@nrred was it a genie intellicode? Because for mine the learn button was in the light casing it was on the left a small black button over a little red light

IF IT ISNT WORKING, THEN YOU PROBABLY HAVE A DIFFERENT TYPE. I had type 3 and there are certain instructions for each type so don’t give up yet and go to the link in his bio. This video was also very helpful so make sure to watch it

I have a liftmaster 2017 with yellow button ( no orange, no purple, no green) but anyway I tried with 2,3,and 4 . It didn’t work 😩😩😩

I missed the first part of this video guy that's why I wrote this, Good video dude but you forgot to tell people why you hit 6, you just said 6 because this is a genie. Well that being said i didn't know what you were talking about but I don't have a genie so your system did not work for me, the number six that is. I had to go to another video that said you need your ID code for your system and come to find out it goes by years made, not by being a genie. So I went to gsoverheadsystems.com and found the id code for my system which was 2 and everything worked following your instructions just me adding a 2 instead of 6 made my day! thanks again dude, i would just clarify the id code you used and your video is great. Maybe other people will catch on like i did eventually because I never messed with garage door openers before.

what do you do if your garage door opener doesn't have a learn button. Its an old stanley professional that uses only dipswitches. I tried to change my code but messed up and can't figure out what code i changed it to.

Genie and Overhead are the only manufacturers you hit zero twice for. The rest in this category you only hit zero once.
