Circled back to this review from last year when it reinforced my decision to pull the trigger. It certainly stung the wallet but the buy once cry once was well worth it! I have had the jacket for almost a year now and it is perfectly designed & engineered in every way, no regrets whatsoever. I just wish they hadn't discontinued that color scheme!! ...thanks again for the real life review!!!

One downside I forgot to mention - every time I look at them hanging in the garage I stop and ask myself "why am I going to work again when I should be out doing epic shit...."

You cracked me up at the end, I didn't see that coming. 😆 Also, your review was the only one I could find with this color--and not only that, it was my favorite review so far! I had a nasty wreck 9 years ago, and I've kept off 2 wheels ever since, simply because I wanted to alleviate some of my family's concerns until I could get better gear. But, frankly, safety isn't cheap--plus a lot of this highly CE-rated gear doesn't look very comfortable in the kind of weather we have out here in Arkansas. So I've been looking at this line of gear for years, because it looks functional, comfortable, and most important of all, attractive--I mean, safe. But now I have a great job, and my dad gave me his old bike, so I can't wait to take some refresher classes and hit the road again--and in style, too! 😁

Klim makes quality gear, all my dirt bike gear is Klim and I love it. I don't mind paying for quality products but in Canada it would cost $3000+ for the full Badlands Pro suit, a little bit beyond my budget so I went with the Rev'It Sand 4. I just got the pants last night, the jacket will take a couple more weeks. I've also never been a fan of either the removable rain liner or gear with the fixed gortex liner, I prefer to wear external rain gear, that way my gear isn't wet on the outside after the rain subsides and I take off my rain gear. I got the Giant Loop Fandango tank bag last night as well based off your recommendation, I'm looking forward to trying it out. Ride safe out there.

Why did you choose that color? Just curious, I was thinking of that color but like the gray/hi viz option as well.
@floridajim

Because I'm in Florida and wanted a light color, and the brown areas won't show up the dirst so bad from sleeping/crashing in the dirt. Plus I like the color combo.

how does it fair up in 100 degree florida humidity weather? or should i stick with the induction pro jacket?
@floridajim
@floridajim 4 ай бұрын
I never tried the Induction Pro, so I don't know if they're better. The Klims work great as long as you're moving. They are also seriously expensive. The big question is do you need what they offer enough to pay such a premium for them?

Great review. Actually informative and can see the features, instead of a guy just standing there wearing it which tells me nothing. How tall are you and how much do you weigh? I’m considering an XL Reg as well, and if it fit me like it fits you, I’d be happy. I can’t find any of this stuff in stock in any stores to try it on, and the Klim fit wizard has never resulted in anything that remotely fits me well. Thanks!

I'm 5'8" and 180#. This is a Regular X-Large, and a normal fit for me would be Regular Large (which would be better off-road & over 80mph, less floppy). There's a reason I normally go a size large for a Rally jacket, when I have the vents open it balloons up slightly giving better circulation around me, but over 80mph it can start to flap around, which is pretty uncomfortable. There's also two other reasons specific to long distance riding in extreme heat. 1) When I'm running LDcomfort Power-temp-cool-sleeves the jacket arms will balloon up enough to allow proper evaporation to cool them off. 2) When I'm running in temps that are just plain stupid (like in last year's IBR) there's enough room to smash a 5# bag of ice flat, dump half of it in my Motojug, punch holes in the bottom of the bag, and sandwich it between my jacket and LDcomfort base layer (emphasis on the phrase "just plain stupid" here).

My question is summer ride which is almost 85 % for everyone so can we ride in 80 plus degree without cooked ? I got Carlsbad don’t like at all doesn’t have enough vents for me got cooked on this summer.

With all the vents open and wicking base layer (I use LD Comfort) it works while in motion. Get stuck in traffic and you cook.

They're amazing, though in a strong crosswind the leeward one on the shoulder isn't in the wind, and the leg one is completely blocked. Klim will have a hard time improving this suit.

i will say i have badlands pants that i bought in sep of last year thinking that they would have a restock of the olive jackets. they didnt so now i have olive pants and no matching jacket.ill tell others if you buy some and you want a matching set buy them together. klim could seem to give a hoot when i asked about a restock of jacket in oct. asked again in jan and was told they had done away with the olive.

That is irritating, then again I ran my new Kilm Peyote top with my old grey HD/Rev'it Grit pants in the Missouri Rally, and that's about as mismatched as it gets.

I do like all my gear. It is extremely well thought out and rugged. It was an expensive lesson to learn. Like you the price is high for me. I have a set of marrakesh gear for my on road riding i. Hot weather that is worth it weight in gold. I really love the marrakesh gear. I think i might get the baja s4 gear next year. If you get a chance you should try the marrakesh pants and jacket. It is probably the best gear ive ridden in 95 degree heat. Stretches and breathes great.
