I figured out a way to use my left hand only to connect the strap (a tight strap), took me about a day. I could not figure out a way to do it with 2 hands as fast as you did, (we are about the same in time, 2-3 seconds). Klim should have a publicized competition with that, with prizes. Not kidding. It would change a lot of D-ringed minds. :) I bet the record would soon be less than 1.5 seconds to latch it up when on your head with a tight strap. Doug in Michigan.

Nothing really "Bad". A great helmet, especially for the price. To answer what the best helmet would be for off road use, I will take a shot at that. It would be the helmet that is light, (sub 3lbs), because it is not DOT or Snell approved, (needed for legal road helmet approval), that adds weight and cost to the helmet. It would be well ventilated for the summer, with ability to block the vents for the winter. It would have a more round shell including the nose area, that would probably work better than any Mips system for less complexity, cost and weight, (Of course, I think that getting a helmet a bit to big and wearing a breathable stocking cap to fill the gap would work as good as any Mips system.). A reasonable price, but bang for the buck maybe. It would be the $399.99 Klim F3 carbon. Not the carbon pro that I have at $499.99 with the Koroyn crush tubes instead of the triple density foam in a couple area's, because those tubes are blocking a lot of the F3's air flow, (some tubes too tall, blocking the passages, and the liner blocks off 95% of the 2 large rear exhaust holes on my helmet.). F3 carbon. Like 2.44lbs, ECE certified, quick strap is awesome when you get a method figured out to latch it with a tight chin strap. Great venting, great off road protection, slim look. Needs better colors, but a hard to beat helmet IMO.
