Comment below what helmet you have for dirt biking.

Got these for snowmobiling and love it. Normally try to save money where I can, like still riding 06 M7s but the weight reduction is worth the price. Tried using this for DH biking but it felt a little looser than I remembered it, probably because I wasn't wearing my balaclava under it, I may just need to adjust the check pads... or eat more. I'll probably use it at the bike park the rest of the season but was wondering if it will hold up to multiple smaller impacts, or if it's more of a one hit and retire it deal.

I have been using mine at the pump track and so far so good. I have taken a few spills on the moto, pedal bike, and snowmobile and it seems to be holding up

I have the Leatt and I like it except for the check pads fall off almost every time I take it off and its frustrating having to reattach them every time before putting it back on.

Watching you put the helmet on at min 4:48, I can tell yours is a looser fit then mine. I struggle a bit more to get my head past the cheek pieces, and I love the snug fit. But if yours is a bit loose there is a plus there for safety that I don't get with my tighter fitting F3. A slightly loose helmet probably works better than any Mips system. :)

Yeah mine isn’t tight

Strange, I've read the opposite, that a loose helmet protects less than a tight/proper fitting helmet. Not sure why.

Currently using a Bell Mx-9. I have been using Bell Star streetbike helmets for a while as well. But I have been thinking about this the F3 carbon for this summer.
@BackcountryLife3 жыл бұрын
Bell makes some great helmets! I specifically choose the F3 Carbon because of how light it was.

I notice there is a regular and koroyd version for venting. Does your regular version keep you cool in summer weather?
@BackcountryLife Жыл бұрын
yeah, I guess they call it the F3 Carbon Pro Helmet, which was not available when I bought my F3 Carbon. Yes, I wear it in the summer and no helmet really keeps me cool in the summer months haha. But it does vent and I can tell.

Cool! Was just thinking about replacing my helmet. Using a TLD, really good option at around $250. Thanks for reviewing the Klim CF. Sure looks cool

I really like the look of the TLD but none of them fit my head all that well.

@@BackcountryLife Yeah I have the gray one with the adidas on the top /visor. It is a cool design. Imagine if Klim hired someone from the Fox racing designing team. They would instantly be #1 because of their quality. Styling though......eh, Klim has some dorky colorways and designs. And they are always low inventory/back order when they launch like they have cash flow issues. Your helmet is cool though.
@BackcountryLife3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I feel the same way about Kline design there gear has lasted me longer than any other gear I’ve vowed but the overall fit and design is not my favorite. However I am really liking this F3 helmet

You are "a traditional D-ring helmet supporter". What, is there a lobby for that in Washington too!!!???? Has there been riots on the streets!!!??? Is soros paying for that too!!??? Such language. :)

Still one of my go to helmets love the chin strap magnet strap and how light it is.

@@BackcountryLife I just received the F3 Carbon Pro but won't be able to use it until spring now. I was bummed to see it is made in china, so I did find a few imperfections after that. A few tiny flaws in the finish, what looks like a gasket sealer on the cloth of one of the cheek pads, (I hope they just replace the cheek pad for me), a poor fit of the rubber vent intake just above the goggle, creating weird shaped vent holes, (fixed with an exacto knife), and last but not least, the liner actually covers up the Koroyn tubes over the 2 largest exhaust vent holes on the back of the helmet about 95%. That is either hasty design, or I have the normal F3 carbon liner. I am picking hasty design, as the height of some of the Koroyn tubes block off other air passages in the foam. Those are pretty small things, but the more complicated anything gets, the more attention to detail is needed for a premium product. I love the Fid chin strap magnetic buckle. Nothing can release faster without push button wireless, but it does take some practice, developing a technique to lock it up with the helmet on, especially with a tight strap. It took me about a day to develop a fast method with only the left hand. Starting standing with my hands at my sides and my helmet on my head, it takes me about 2 or 3 seconds longer to hook it up as it does to unhook it. I don't have a problem with a well designed set of D-rings that can be removed easily, (as Bell had, I know in the old days. Moto 2,3,4,5). My problem is it is a crap shoot if you are buying a different helmet, and that crap shoot ends with this devise.
@EarthSurferUSA Жыл бұрын
Because of the hasty design of the $100 more F3 carbon pro, if I were to do it again, I would probably get the normal foamed F3 carbon, (which is about 1.5 oz lighter than the pro model), which probably does not ave the venting flow issues that the pro has, and save $100.00. But the carbon model does not have the good graphics that I like ("Thrashed electric blue lemonade", what ever the lemonade is), that match my blue YZ so well.

@BackcountryLife was test fitting yesterday. Saw a plain f5 with the straws for 580 cdn.. more weight but the cooling potential... has basically a sun roof. Thinking it might venturi the head away.
