Added features of the Induction Pro over the standard Induction jacket:
Mesh fabric supposedly not as stretchy as the standard Induction jacket
Roomier vs the standard Induction jacket
Looser fit; Plenty of extra room for wearing a sweatshirt underneath
The real difference between the Induction and Induction Pro is the impact armor, level 2Pro vs. Level 1, Leather covered elbows, Thicker Cordura on shoulders and cuffs, and Outside breast pocket.
Both jackets are strictly Strictly a one-season garment. The mesh provides excellent airflow, almost too much. Riding in any weather under 60 f you will definitely be chilly. Fortunately the Induction Pro runs a little large allowing you to wear undergarments like a heavy sweatshirt.
Who is this jacket for?
Day riders, Long-distance riders may not select this jacket, with no rain protection and no way to close venting down during cooler rides. Long-term riders will tend towards the Badlands or Carlsbad jackets, both have great venting yet provide closing of vents and moisture blocking. None of this is possible on the Induction jackets. But no jacket is perfect.
The Induction Pro jacket outperforms its competition in hot weather riding with its outstanding air flow. All this while giving the best abrasion and impact protection
Fit and finish
Overall the Induction Pro has been one of the best-fitting jackets I’ve owned. Some reviewers complain there’s too much room in the arms. I completely disagree. The added room allows wearing extra clothing underneath that can be stripped as the day temps start pushing above 70 f. By the time you reach 90 f, you will absolutely love this jacket.
Another advantage of the jacket’s added room- it easily accommodates a cool vest. One thing though, because there is so much airflow, your cool vest will dry quickly. But then I repeat there’s no such thing as a perfect jacket.
Would I use this jacket for long term rides? Maybe. Let's make some definitions here: Long rides as in 1-2 weeks? Yes. But with the intention of riding mostly in temps 75 and higher. If I plan on more than half my riding will be 70 f and below then no.
Secondly- Will I expect rain in the forecast? Um, maybe It really just depends on temps and the amount of expected wet weather. You can easily throw a rain shell over the top.
Now if you define “ long term” as months in the saddle then no to the Induction Pro jacket.
Obviously, cargo space is a premium and you must pack accordingly. This is where I would utilize a jacket like the Badlands or Carlsbad. Both have good venting. Obviously not the airflow of the induction jacket.
This is not to say I solely ride mesh several long trips were done in canvas and or leather jackets.
Klim’s competition
Prior to buying the Klim, I had an Alpinestar mesh jacket. Comparing the two, Klim had way better material and construction. Way beefier Zippers both in main and pockets zippers. The main Zipper on the Alpine Star the zipper teeth continually broke apart. The just got worse as the jacket aged.
Armor explained
D3O is a brand of impact protection material used in various types of protective gear, including motorcycle armor. CE stands for "Conformité Européene," which means that the product meets European safety standards.
CE Level 1 is a certification level for motorcycle armor that is designed to absorb and distribute the force of an impact. CE Level 1 armor has a lower minimum impact energy transfer requirement than CE Level 2 armor. CE Level 1 armor is typically lighter and more flexible than CE Level 2 armor, which can make it more comfortable to wear.
D3O CE LP2 Pro is a type of armor that meets the CE Level 2 certification. It is designed to provide greater protection against impacts than CE Level 1 armor, with a higher minimum impact energy transfer requirement. D3O CE LP2 Pro armor is generally thicker and more rigid than CE Level 1 armor, which can make it less comfortable to wear, but it provides greater protection against high-impact crashes.

I would say 4 seasons if you add a heated liner under the down mid layer
