In this review, Chris talks through the Klim Marrakesh jacket. The outer material is a heavy-duty, 1000 denier Cordura. With four-way stretch woven into it, it makes for an amazingly comfortable jacket. The jacket also comes as standard with D3O armour throughout. We've devised a system that will allow you to wear the Klim Marrakesh jacket all year round. The Marrakesh really is an extraordinary bit of kit. To see what we're banging on about, check out what Chris has to say.
Contrary to what Chris said in this review, the 2021 price for the Klim Marrakesh jacket is £370.

Anthony was the king of reviews, such charisma. But your unedited, honest approach is just as good in my books. After moving from the typical 3-piece adv gear, I thought I had the solution with the Klim Latitude suit. But spring if this year I bought the Marrakesh jacket to wear with my K52 jeans for my short 30 min commutes and everything changed. Riding in temps between -2 and 38 Celsius here in Canada, I was so impressed with the jacket that I bought the matching pants and sold off the Latitude suit. The Marrakesh is just way more comfortable. Lighter. Less bulky. Breathes better. And zipped sleeve cuffs! I keep the same Scott waterproofs seen in this vid on the bike (though I recommend the yellow jacket for better visibility), and in cooler weather I wear Klim’s Zephyr wind shirt over a base or base plus mid layer. Awesome gear.

Hi Chris - I've had the pleasure of meeting you (amongst others) in the shop. In my view what's appealing about these videos - and indeed what you say in the shop - is that everything comes across as honest and realistic. It's always unpleasant (certainly for me) watching back videos in which one appears and thinking how much better things could have been done but essentially what people looking at this sort of video want to know is "will it work for me?" - you generally provide more than enough information to let people build up a shortlist that's for sure. Extra corporate gloss and super-coiffured presenters don't help much in that respect.

Chris, great video and the use of a lavalier style microphone is a great move, for now the sound is clearly audible all the time. Some of your earlier videos had issues with the sound level but now with the addition of that bit of kit, a big thumbs up.

Hi, I’ve been looking at a few mesh options and really like the look of this one. Do you think the material would brush off riding past the odd bramble bush? My main use would be off-road/green laning, with the only road use being getting to the off-road riding. The layering system you propose is exactly what I have in mind for colder/wetter riding. Cheers.

Anthony from Revzilla WAS a fantastic presenter, no doubt but, the truths that you are telling is head and shoulders above what Anthony ever did. The simple fact of comparing other (Big Named) brands against whatever it is that you are describing helps tremendously when it comes to imagining how a particular garment will fit into ones personal scenario. Anthony is past but Chris is present nuff said

Great set up with the layering system ! What would be your opinion on using this same setup but instead using a Rukka Forsair as the protective layer do you still think that would be a setup to get you through most riding conditions ? I know use say the Rukka Flows more air but with all three layers surely this would be irrelevant in terms of keeping you warm as the Scott is providing a windproof layer, the way I'm looking at it the mid layer be it the Klim or Rukka is purely just for protection when using all three. About to put an order in to you guys but the the Forsair Pro Long really suits my needs better but would still like to use the combo ranging from 15 degrees upwards.
@Motolegends
@Motolegends 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it would work. You just have to bear in mind that without the windproof layer you could get cold. It is also true that, whatever you wear beneath, the more air a garment flows, the cooler you are going to be.
@markc7342

@@Motolegends " whatever you wear beneath, the more air a garment flows, the cooler you are going to be" Sorry not quite sure what you mean ? Whatever you wear beneath without a windproof layer the cooler you will be ? surely a thermal layer underneath would keep you warmer even if air was still getting through ? say for temperatures that are not extreme but still just want to take the edge off the wind chill

Very useful video. Thanks. A side note, not meant to criticize, only educate. I have been corrected on the pronunciation of zebra and garage and numerous other words, so now it’s my turn. I live only a few miles from Klim’s World Headquarters. My home town is famous as the birthplace of television, and also Klim. All this is to say Klim is pronounced “climb”. It’s not everyday I get to correct a Brit, all in good fun old boy.

I don’t know the Knox well but from what I can see I would suggest the Marrakesh is a lot more versatile as you can layer underneath and therefore wear in a wider temperature window.

We wouldn't swap you for a dozen RevZilla "Anthony's" Chris............ 13 or 14, well...... we'll think about that. Anthony is a polished professional who knows his ar5e - sorry - shoulder from his elbow. Mind you, he's pretty chuffin' useless with tenses - always telling what things are "Going to do" for me - presumably - that is a positive prediction, rather that what it will effin' DO for me today. Anyway - digression apart. Anthony can't help being - American. We'll be in to try both the Forsair, and the Marekes......Maraket........Maracatc....... the Klim vent, with the Rukka duck down mid layer. I've had 3 Belstaff's from you over the last 18 months, which is my late 70's first love - including a Mohar....... Mojav.......Moharv........... the short one. I am really passionate about Belstaff since I had a slide in '78, ripped a pocket and sleeve, and they repaired if free of charge, with a letter hoping I was ok (True), but I know the company has changed hands twice since then - but that brand loyalty is still there in my soul, but if I am honest, rather than sentimental, I know that this "Gory Text" (which I always thought was Halloween III SMS picture messages................no ??) and cordura is the future, but trust me, the past was also great. Just wetter, colder and more miserable. However, now that I am older - and therefore wetter, colder and more miserable in my disposition, I need warmth, cooling and comfort continuously, and infinitely variable. Good job Chris / Sarah and entire team. I wish you had been around in the late 70's - but then again, you would be grumpy old beggars by now like me 👍😁😘😘😘😘😘😘, so you'd be saying "Put a plastic bag over your socks and you'll be fine" like my Mum did. I did.............., and I never was 😂 Cheers guys
