I think that's actually a good thing. With the right base layer like LD Comfort or Merino wool, you can wick away perspiration and it doesn't get blown away like a hair dryer mesh jacket before it gets the chance to cool you off.

Agreed on the comfort of the jacket, definitely one of my favorites. I would encourage those looking to buy one to take a good look at the sizing, they seem to run big. I’m 5’11” 170lbs and ended up buying a size small. For context I wear Rev’it and Alpinestars jackets in a size large.
@matthewspecker7 ай бұрын
💯 Size down for sure. I’m normally a large in everything. Even an XL in some Revit. A medium is perfect if not still a bit roomy. I also immediately ditched the ghost armor and added the traditional LP2 D3O throughout. This made it fit even better.

I crashed with these on the other day, around 50mph, saved me from allot of road rash but not a broken fibula. Honestly tho It might have saved me from allot worse thanks to the CE2 pads I had in it. The jacket has light touches wear but still usable. The pants are smoked, torn near the right knee. I’ll definitely be buying again. I got 5 sets of Klim and these and the Bajas are my most used. With the Marrakesh I layer and it’s comfy from 34-80 degrees. I barely use my heavier Klim sets because it’s that good.

I do love my Marrakesh jacket and pants and I wear them a lot of the time. Above 90F I switch to the Klim Induction Jacket for better airflow. This either jacket and M pant combined with rain over jacket and pant combined with heated vest and puff jacket will take you from freezing to 100 with comfort. The M jacket breathes but the Induction Jacket really flows much better. Best of all the flexible fabric is way comfortable. Go with a light color for warmish days. Ian is spot on. Also for road rides, I started wearing the new Helite 2 tethered (non-electronic) vest. Having tried both styles (over and under air-vest), I find the Helite II over-vest cooler in hot weather than the under-jacket vests. Perhaps a review idea for BRM.

I have both the Marrakesh jacket and pants. In temps below 60 degrees (f) - the Klim lightweight Zephyr shell pairs really well, worn underneath, to cut the airflow against the skin. The Pants are 3 and maybe 4 season - in cooler weather I wear a base-layer long-john and i am good to 30 degrees F (with a different jacket obviously). Klim's nod to actual fashion =) I have one in light gray and I call it my Sunday-go-to-meeting outfit. This is what I wear with riding jeans for a day ride. I have a Baja S4...I had wanted a Marrakesh jacket but couldnt justify the cost, but then I was at the local dealer with my wife and I tried it on for her. She bought it for me on the spot! I still wear the Baja for trips and off road (not sure how abrasion tolerant the M'kesh is), but the fit and look of this jacket compares to anything the Dutch or Italians make (mine replaced a Rev'it Airwave...I like the longer cut of the Klim too). Depending on weather, time of the day, etc., I will wear it with my heated jacket liner for cold temps, or just carry a windbreaker and a fleece, good to go. My new MSR mid-layer is perfect for it. On wet days stick a Scott ergo waterproof over the top. If you're cold stick on a Klim zephr windbreaker and/or a down jacket underneath. Now I am just having a really hard time deciding between the Marrakesh and the Baja S4. The Marrakesh is VERY comfortable, but at the same time, I will sometimes be riding in 100+ temps and the S4 flows more air but is heavier). I may eventually own both but for now need to decide between one or the other (pant and jacket). The Marrakesh 36" regular pant fit me well (I have a 32/33" inseam). Sizing for me was consistent with the Marrakesh, Baja S4 and with the Latitude set which I already own.

The Klim Baja S4 is available in a light grey color, reportedly flows more air than the Marrakesh (but is heavier) and the jacket and pants can zip together. It is slightly more expensive at 1120 USD plus tax.

Found the Held Sonic jacket with the Vento pants for less than 300€. Problem solved

If you treat the jacket with 303 Fabric Guard, it will make it very water resistant. For cold wear a waterproof heated jacket underneath and all set for cold rainy weather if needed. Have worn this jacket from 40 degrees up to 95. Unfortunately I can't wear the pants. Klim does not make any pants for tall fat guys.

Just as you say……I bought one and now don’t use my other jackets. Top marks

Is there anything in the MSR line up that is similar?

I am looking for riding gear for South Florida where it is hot and humid and it rains almost every day. When going off road the trails are often flooded. I bought a pair Forma Terra EVO Dry X-Series Boots because they were the only boots I could find with a relatively wide toe box. I would like to keep water out of my boots but I also don’t want to sweat to death. Good road protection is also a concern. Help me Ian

MSR Xplorer pants, if you want waterproof. For the jacket I'd go klim Baja s4 with a rain layer over the top when needed

KLIM gear is pricey but the quality and fit justifies the cost. at least that’s what I tell myself😁

Would you get it if you lived in some colder and rainier part of US, im from Europe and climate would probably be closer to north of US.

I have been very happy with my Latitude set for cooler weather (between 40 and 75 degrees F roughly, could maybe go to 80 as long as not stop and go). Not as light as Marrakesh of course, but also not as extreme as Carlsbad or Badlands. Gore Tex so should handle the rain no problem.

what would be magic, is a breathable summer jacket (or pants) that isn't black (and hot in the bright sun by default).

I have this jacket. It’s the most comfortable thing ever. However, am I the only one who gets very hot in the back with this?
@dodger01013 ай бұрын
If you’re only buying a single leg it’s pant otherwise it’s a “pair of pants” or “pants”. (Word origin pantaloons)

"The Most Comfortable Riding Gear (period.)" can't imagine how the jacket wit ha such low neck can be comfortable at all. You will always have to bother with some collars/windbreakers/buffs etc. and even using them you still will catch some wind under the jacket's neck. Seems like for a hot weather only.
@jayharrod86477 ай бұрын
Don't knock it till you try it. Only thing more comfortable is my birthday suit. Been riding 40 years. Put it on and immediately "where have you been the last 4 decades!"
