I've put a decent amount of time in Marrakesh pants, generally in weather 60-90f. I think these are the most comfortable pants I've worn, but have some downsides.

Agree with the sizing. The waist is rather big - I wear a 34 waist in everything but the Marrakesh 34W fits more like a 36W. I can pull them right off when closed so must also use a well-cinched belt. I wear the pants over a pair of Sidi ST boots and they fit perfectly. I too love the comfort of the pants but wouldn't use them for high Summer. I slot them in between my Winter Kodiak pants and my Summer Mojave pants. Off-road I use the Baja suit. I'm considering a tailor as well. Found a guy who will pull in the waist and alter the seat to fit for about $50. Hopefully he'll have high-strength thread! I've tried to find a 32 waist with no luck - both Gens are impossible to find. I might just move these on and wait for a Gen-2 32 tall to return to stock.

Lots of good points about some not so good features. I tend to agree with you; especially on the pant hem--should have a zipper and snap closure for larger boots (like the INDUCTION PANT). Actually, that's the reason I clicked on your video: I wanted to compare the Marrakesh pants to the Induction pants. I have the Induction jacket and was wondering whether the Marrakesh would be a better pairing for Southwest desert touring. You made up my mind--I'm going with the Inductions. Unfortunately Klim tells me they won't be restocked in my size until Feb '22--about the time I'll be shopping for WINTER gear instead!

Just FYI, not sure if they changed the pants up or what - but I tried another pair this year and they front of the leg bottom was stretch now. With a bit of effort, was able to get them over my Gaerne Dakars!

Thanks for the comprehensive review. For me I find it a shame that the back side is not the stretch material for added comfort and it would allow some air to flow between my but and the seat.

Long post incoming: I think its weird that the Marrakesh pant and jacket arent more popular. I’m a former powerlifter and my thighs are big and my waist is narrow. This is the only motorcycle pant that I’ve tried that I liked and could use. I use this as my adventure gear. I live in Norway, so its usually pretty cold, but the summer is still hot, and no gore-tex or waterproof gear is useable when we ride our bikes the most. Pre and post season I layer up underneath and put waterproof(breathable, not the plasic bags) on, and I’m completely fine, also if its wet. For the rest of the season, I’m very comfy. I too cant get the pant over my ADV boots, so I just put them inside and find it fine. My only gripe with the pants is the lack of double material on the knees for when laying in the dirt fixing the bike, but I guess the 1000d nylon fabric is more than durable enough. This added layer would also ruin som stretching, which for me is mandatory.

Yes, extra material in the seat & knees would be nice. If it was stretch, it wouldn't affect the comfort I think. I

For a product named after a beautiful City Western City in Morocco and a designation for some, maybe many as a Bucket List item to have a motorcycle adventure. Klim, a hard core Adventure centered company would create a product and not, fit over Adventure boot. Or not have enough material in high wear areas such as the knee. I must investigate further.

It’s too bad the stretch terminates early / there’s no gusset. I’ve seen somebody get it in their boots, but for me there too much material.

Good to know about the boot fit! Those are definitely out, since I use the A* Tech 7 Enduros as my "Adventure" boot.

If you can try a pair on, they might work. I’m not sure if I had an early run or what, but I’ve been able to get them over less bulky ADV and enduro boots. Tech 7s are pretty big tho, and they def don’t work with SG12s or tech10s.

Nice review. Are the pants multi-layered in any area? (not including the slip liner).

Nope, single layer 1000d in most impact zones.

Hi Chris, very informative, thank you. How you would compare these pants with the Baja? Which one flows more air? Is the protection on the baja comparable to the Marrakesh I use the Alpinestar Corozal boot so I assume is a no go for the Marrakesh and makes me consider to go for a Marrakesh jacket and Baja pants if I find a coulour that matches. Full baja is very expensive and I also understood the Marrakesh jacket is a bit more versatile Thanks

Howdy. If you live somewhere you can try the Marrakesh on or return it for a small fee, I’d give it a shot. The one I reviewed here might have been an early production run, because another pant I tried later fit over top my Gaerne Dakars with a bit of effort. Baja has superior airflow and protection.

Such a shame on the boot factor. I really need something with good stretch so I can get as much out of my stubby legs as possible. If you can't get Sidi crossfires underneath I'm definitely not getting Klims own adventure boots in there.

You might be able to manage depending on pant size & boot width. I got a pair of size 34s over the Gaerne Dakar adventure boot. Can’t guarantee it though!

Wish I had seen this before buying these pants. The narrow, straight leg design makes no sense as anyone buying protective pants will also want to wear protective boots. Which is impossible with these!! Klim design team completely missed the mark with what could have been an excellent piece of kit.

These first gen pants do work with some bulkier boots - but they’re definitely a more road/touring focused design meant for slimmer footwear. The second gens are even slimmer by all reports and less able to stretch around a biot

The jacket is great, the pants suck - for the reasons you list. Inaccurately sized, sweaty butt pants you can't get over most of your boots. Doh!
