The Bethel College Choir sang in my grain bin!
Have you ever sung in a grain bin? We were honored to have the Bethel College Choir to come sing in our brand new grain bin. The acusticks in the grain bin are better than you would expect! Settle in for a few minutes and enjoy Down to the River to Pray. The choir did an amazing job in this unexpected space to perform!
Thank you William Eash and Bethel College Choir of Newton, Kansas for making my day beautiful. If you would like to contact them to perform for you, please follow this link: www.bethelks.edu/fine-arts/ch...
Thank you to our sponsor:
Farmers Edge: www.farmersedge.ca/
For business inquiries: klingpossum@icloud.com
Farmer Derek lives and works on the Klingenberg Family farm and ranch. He works with his Dad and two brothers. They raise Corn, Soybeans, Wheat, Cattle, and Cats. They background all the cattle and then graze them in the Flint Hills and they end up at the feedyards in Western Kansas.
The farm was started in the mid 30's by his grandpa who immigrated from West Prussia in 1923 when he was 9.
Growing up, Derek's family priorities consisted of church, family, work, music, and eating a lot. He now has his own family of three cute girls along with his wife Kara. Derek spends his time working on the farm, dancing with his girls, and making KZbin videos.

Yeah the tenor's get the glory but the bass boys get the girls. Unless a tenor goes crazy high nobody reacts. Yet it's increasingly rare to hear people sing bass, so when you do the reactions are "OH I Love that bass!" In singing as a part of the worship team at church when the opportunity presents itself to go into the E2 - D2 range I go for it. edit: As confirmation on that. Just look at the comments. Soprano on point, Alto gotta love that harmony. Tenor hiding in the clouds per usual. Bass killing it. Every vocal part nailed it. Yet who gets the reactions... bass.

@@garygsp3 Oh chill. Ever heard of the Three Tenors? The 'bass boys' don't get the girls, the good guys do, whatever part they happen to sing. I think if my husband could sing (he absolutely can't) he would be either a tenor or baritone.

I grew up in a city, never lived in the country, but I've still visited for education/during vacation/on field trips/to visit distant relatives or friends of friends etc etc. And when you do visit someone with a grain bin or a silo that happens to be empty or nearly empty, yeah people tend to show you them. I've been in at least a couple.

@@LiMCRiMZ You're right. In loud/echoey/exceptionally dry place where we can't hear ourselves, we need to really trust our conductor. At that time though, even our conductor had some problem perceiving the tempo because of the echo. In this video, the conductor might wore IEM to keep track of the tempo which now I remembered ours also wear when we performed right by an orchestra.

This song is usually sung with each verse getting faster and faster. I was wondering what they would do with all that reverb! The choice was made to keep it slow, which, to me, was brilliant, really let the notes ring out and blend like they should. I loved it!

The usual method is to clap your hands and measure how long it takes for the sound to die away. In this case I listened for a distinct sound that would serve the purpose. My living room, which has a vaulted ceiling and hardwood floor, has a bit less than two seconds, even though it is a great room to sing in.
