How can you review the klipsch fives without the sub woofer? These speakers are specifically designed to be paired with a sub woofer. They automatically send the low frequencies away from the drivers to the sub. This makes them AUDIOPHILE QUALITY. Please update the review to tell the entire story.

Klipsch specifically designed the fives to send the low frequencies away from the drivers to the sub, allowing the drivers to offer much much better detailed sound. How do you guys not know that?

Great comparison. If you're looking at the fives, just take note that you can offset the low end with three "bass cut" options. This video captures the default setting which is the boomiest. It's awesome for some music, less so for others. In cutting the bass, not sure if this would technically raise the mid range frequencies we see taking a dip in the chart comparison to the Edifiers but that's the practical effect when listening--better clarity in the mids. And then if you add a sub, blah blah, it really helps liven things up too. Love the Fives, but very impressed by the Edifiers.

If we don't add the source sometimes we can better concentrate on the coloration and presentation of the speaker - as in the older videos. Otherwise the impression from the source may carry over to the tested speaker.

I went from Klipsch r 15pm to Swans m200mkii. Got rid of them. I think these A80 will pair my Polk psw505 nicely? Do these cutoff lows when sub is connected. Can you check if there is any soundchange just by plugging some rca to sub out, please?

You can't ask more for the bass of Airpulse 80, since woofer driver only 4,5 inch. But They give you brilliant solution for Bass and Sub Bass Sufficient. You can connect active subwoofer through Airpulse A80 Sub Out.

If you perform Directivity measurements, both vertical and horizontal tests on both sets of speakers they will explain why both sound different, from what I can hear Klipsch has better vertical directivity measurements, the reason: there is better height to sound dispersion from Klipsch.

when listening to acoustics on youtube, everyone forgets a very important parameter - this is actually the voice of the acoustics itself, the video is not able to convey it, it is usually set by the materials of the speakers, the source and a bunch of other factors. So, all Airpulses have a very synthetic unnatural sound, the signal goes through too many processings, synthetic speakers, and the sound itself is slow, it really lags behind the norm, after a long time of possession these features will not give you rest, budget Edifiers on paper (cellulose) speakers sound much more fun, natural and musical. I've gone through all of this in my own experience.

Fives are a clear winner to me here, and not just the bass. Clarity and depth especially in vocals are a big winner on the fives for me. The source tracks sound terrible in comparison to the speakers for some reason lol. Both speakers present a more "live" sound than the source track!

i own a80, klipsch the sixes, and Wharfedale diamond A1 i think the sounds of a80 lacks bass, so not suitable for movies , but still O.K. for some easy listening (imo. it's too expensive compare to what it got) if you wand a good speaker for musics and movies in similar price -> Wharfedale diamond A1 is a wayyyyy better. ***my favourites : Wharfedale diamond A1 > klipsch the sixes > a80
