Thank you for sharing your recipe, aunty liew. I have never cooked any form of chili paste before. This the first time I attempted to cook chili of any kind. And to my surprised, it is very successful. The taste is right, the flavor is very good. But my hands are now burning with chili spiciness from cutting & removing the seeds during the preparation earlier. Once again, thank you.

Hi! Pamela, I put on gloves before handling the chillies. Perhaps you could try this method also. Once, I faced the same problem as yours, my aunt told me to soak my hands in hot water with salt. Soak for about 30 minutes, and the burning sensation is removed.

@@josieyap yes, thank u. My mom also told me to wear gloves. My 2nd batch, I wore a pair surgical gloves. So didn't get burnt by the spiciness. This sambal blacan recipe is so good my family loves it. Don't need to buy off the shelves anymore.

Ini cerita belacan sangat lucu. Ada pengalaman yg betul. Saya dulu pernah duduk di UK. Saya panggang belacan utk buat sambal belacan. Lepastu ada polis datang sbb jiran komplen ada bau busuk. Jiran ingat saya memproses mayat orang meninggal lalu dilaporkan kpd polis utk siasat 😂. Kasihan dan lucu pengalaman tu hahaha.
