The original and the remake, both still trully underrated classics. The ability of this game to give a good vibe with the music and gameplay still unbeatable to this day in my opinion

If they bring back Klonoa, they NEED to use the PS1's design instead. It's way better, and more recognizable. The remake looks like Sonic's art style, I miss how Klonoa on PS1 had a one of a kind style.

Pre rendered ps1 intro looks way cooler and holds up better imo. Honestly the ps1 version looks better and more visually in gameplay imo too, the colors are much more unique and the environments have more charm and creativity.

I never got a chance to play the original but I was really happy to play the wii-make after playing 2. First time I got into the Klonoa series was playing 2 at a store demo. I didn't have a ps2 that time, owned a N64 and the game reminded me so much like Kirby 64 that time. For the "2nd" remake for Switch, looks like they added his original character model and the original voice track from PS1. The visuals for both games looks to be updated and remade from not just the sequel but the wiimake too rather then the ps1 classic. Features I'm hoping they add like the wii version but for both games. Costumes: Short Classic model, tall modern collar model, red zipper clothes, blue zipper clothes and his pajamas. And as for sound options: can switch between The PS1 voice track or Wii track But they so don't need the english voice dub. In the Wii version, you can change to Phatomile language, but the intro wwere Klonoa screams Wa-Hoo is stuck in English for some reason.

There is an option in the game to change it into original voice rather than english voiceover, and I'm much prefer the gibberish than the english voiceover

I really like the graphics in the remake, sure the fmv part on the PSX looks really good, but I love all the colors in the Wii version. Now on Klonoa's design, it looks like more the Lunatea's version, and the english voice acting doesn't fit at all. I miss playing the Wii.

The Wii version is a masterclass on how "prettier" doesn't translate to "better". An cohesive art style always trumps graphical fidelity.

The PS1 version looks so much better than the Wii remake lmao. Haven't seen anything from this game whatsoever and only remember the demo of the second game. I was thinking 'Wii remake? Awesome I'll play it on that' but now I'm not so sure.

Your video is kinda poorly organized tbh, you could have shown both versions separately, like the original 1st then it goes to the WII version with its audio, but trough my opnions about both versions now: I think, the original was better for its release in 98, i think i get why they released on the WII, being one of the highest selling home consoles at the time, while the players were mostly casuals, so they could perhaps make the game more popular, buut still failed. But the WII took base of the gamecube, which for 2008 the game looks, not so great for the release, i guess it looks good for a WII game but i've seen better i guess, it looks more like a 2004 game, even tho the WII game was my introduction i think the original was kinda better, the cutscenes, needless everyone seems to have almost no expressions and just, regular emotions and dated animations, i prefer the wii bubbles i guess, now into the voice acting klonoa could have huewpow's VA and somebody for huepow, speaking of klonoa him self, everyone has their almost original character designs, but why not him, i think its an ok design but i just prefer the original VA and design which suited in better, same goes to joka and lephise, they look tall for some reason. But i guess its an ok version of the game, i wanted to know more about this version but its been since a really long time i dont play this and i dont feel like emulating a WII on a PC without the original motion controls

I prefer the PS1 version above everything, I liked the cutscenes more, the design and the voice acting I find not very good on the wii. The new remakes (PS5 etc) Are doing way too much tutorial and some charm is definetly lost from those hazy and dreamy cutscenes the PS1 has

Yeah, the voices in the remake are horrible... They fit in Sonic, but not in Klonoa. But in the options of the remake you can switch to the original ps1 voices.

@@MiesterDX595 sure emotions play a huge part in our judgement, I aware of the existence of cognitive biases but this is simply not a good adaptation. They changed some core elements of the original work and gave a new identity to the remake. Surely they had good intentions, and tried to speak with a more mature audience... character design cutscene editing sound effect voices color pallet pace and soundtrack ... everything is consistently inferior.
