I affectionately refer to the bones in this video as 'wrist gravel' and I appreciate the range of motion they provide for my hands as they serve their purpose, but I also appreciate that when they aren't doing their job there is a solution, even a solution as serious as surgery

@Jojo forgot where i heard it but healing speed generally directly correlates to blood supply. So muscles and skin which has blood vessels all over heal fast. Bones makes blood, so it has some blood supply and can heal at decent speed. Tendons and cartilage don’t really have a blood supply inside them so it takes longer to heal.

@Pirarucu1572 жыл бұрын

How did that happen? I broke my scaphoid 18y ago, first surgery wit herbert screw was unsuccessful. Had a bone graft made and it healed after 4 months wearing a cast. Now it hurts sometimes, my wrist has like 60 percent the capacity of the other one. I even have a small bump where the bone is. This stuff really worries me. Im 40y old.
@goonboy63 жыл бұрын
I just recently had this surgery due to scaphoid fracture that turned into a non-union. Feb 18th and til this day still in hand therapy trying. To gain back grip strength. Lost crazy amount of range I just want to be back to where I can bench press again to where the bar sit right in my palm. Lol but other than that the pain is still there Gotta just let my hand heal slowly which it’s doing. In your case, I’m sorry that you have to endure that. The only way that can get repaired it to (just how they fused those few bones together in the video) they have to fused every bone in your hand including the ones leading to the knuckles (not the actual knuckle) THEN they have to fuse all of that to your wrist. So basically you’d have a stiff arm no flexation or extension of the wrist whatsoever. But the good side of that, you’d be in much less pain IN THE END. To be honest, you have to go through it to get to it 💯 but if your hand is manageable now like you can do a few things with it and can SLEEP then maybe try a different route. Because one thing about this surgery is they definitely have to cut your nerve and block your whole arm. That process itself of me gaining my feeling bsck took months itself. Now it’s back but my thumb point & middle finger still got a sort of tingly feeling lol some night the pain just starts aching out of nowhere and I get noooooo sleep. But the thing is faith. Is you have the faith together that hand better and you actually put in the effort to make it happen, you’ll overcome this. I can tell you no brother it’s just a test of faith 💯 God is going to make a way for you 🙏🏾💪🏾
