Resident Evil 1 was actually remade in the early 2000's for the GameCube. That's probably why Capcom started with RE2 since they already remade RE1. Although I would like Capcom to remake RE1 again with the same style as the current remakes since it would be a different experience.

I can't stand the fixed camera angles compared to what 7, village, 2 Remake have done with at least a third person free camera angle. I would prefer first person like how village is but i can't really complain about third person.

I agree. I was very skeptical of this remake when it got announced. Wanted them to do Code Veronica first. But the demo sold me. I love how they subverted expectations & in certain spots in the village in the original you were safe they completely flipped that on its head like the floor in the tower collapses now or the house to the right that was an easy stay in the room & shoot everyone till the bell now has a villagers & a chainsaw guy in it. & a side window. I love that attention to detail so now older players who think they know everything about the game really don't lol.

Thank you for making this video I suggested Klutzy. As a huge RE fan myself, this was the first video of Harman’s that genuinely upsetted me that I made a video on myself. I’ve never seen anyone more butthurt about a remake selling well and honestly, I like to think of this as Harman’s way of being in denial that something may actually have a chance to beat out Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. If this does actually happen, I’d love to see Harman’s face on it. (Oh please I hope my prediction doesn’t age like milk) Edit: Oh and they did end up Remaking RE1 already. It was actually one of the few RE games Capcom made during their partnership to release it first on Gamecube in 2002 oddly enough. The RE1 Remake became the version that was ported to every system afterwards just like RE4 OG

Ok, so what ticked me off about Harman in this video was the fact he said this game needs more content like an Ada campaign and Ashley campaign. So first, the OG RE4 had an extra mode called Mercenaries. What this was a basic see how fast you can go thru the whole map of RE4 with characters separate from Leon, such as Ada and Albert Wesker. Second, there is, in the original RE4, a whole ass side story for Ada. Which is basically a campaign for her. This is how I know Harman did not play the original and makes me question why he's talking about a game he knows nothing about.

When he said that you don't fight the guy AT ALL, that is just a cut scene, I knew he DID NOT play the demo, because you fight him like 3 minutes after but this time the guy has a broken neck and you have to shoot him, and after that starts a sequence of you fleeing from a few guys chasing you in a very tense sequence, were you have almost no bullets to fight them all and have to flee. Besides that, they cut a few of the starting cut scenes to not spoil the game and give you mostly just gameplay.

About it running on the previous gen, with the exception of RE8's surprisingly shoddy PC port, every game running on the RE Engine (which is every Resident Evil game since 7) has been incredibly well optimised for most systems, so I wouldn't be surprised if the last gen version of RE4Make still runs pretty well.

Here's another point on RE4 since I'm an RE fan and played nearly all the games. Screw RE Gaiden on the gameboy! Anyways all the mechanics are improved except Leon can't kick doors anymore for some reason...What he saying the action became a cutscene, but he didn't noticed so did I at first that first guy you kill in the og Leon will say he's not a zombie when you inspect the body, while the new one is more cinematic, BUT again when you see the guy again with a broken next he's already mutating to a plaga parasite that is more aggressive than a regular enemy. So Capcom has a give and take. I do miss doing it all manually than a spoon fed cutscene, however like said if implemented good it will be good. Which it is. Though I wanted to jump off the window myself. and yes RE1 already has a remake and remake remaster and a remaster remaster remake

Resident Evil 4 was ported to the PlayStation 2 after Capcom stated that it did not fall under the exclusivity deal with Nintendo. It was released in North America on October 25, 2005 (One year later than Gamecube) with improved controls and extra game modes. It has also had ports to PC and Xbox. But the remake looks to have added the horror back into the game while respecting what came before. In the original Leon, like an idiot, went to another country without learning a single word of its language, which even then looked ridiculous. And about "cringe dialogue moments"... I'm not all sure on the details but it put the original game remake on GameCube into development hell and almost got cancelled entirely. When it finally did release they had to replace almost every song in the game, which is how we got the wonderful basement fart song. They likely don't want to do that all again and have simply decided to not try again.

Not about Harman but you should def play the re2 remake. Or try it. As a non horror fan this game gripped me HARD. I got so into it I platinumed it and even got into speedrunning it, it was so fun 😅

I agree that RE4 didn't need a remake, a VR port maybe, but the HD version is still good enough. As an RE fan I only like 1-3, everything else doesn't feel like an RE game.

I do agree with him that RE4 didn't need a remake seem to be basically Capcom version of Skyrim. I assume they didn't do a remake of 1 is because they did a remaster of 1 and 0 sometime ago.

It was one of those things where they did Remake 2 & 3 that nearly EVERYONE would want Capcom to do RE4 remake, they did do an RE1 remake but that was released on other consoles along with RE 0

They said they didn't tell the whole story for the devil they intentionally cut some stuff out so I'm pretty sure you're going to see the reason why the cop I should say cops got separated when the full game does come out

Yes you do see the cut scene where Leon kicks the ganado and breaks his neck but he's not dead you meet him in the basement what the f*** is he talkin about that's the same guy that you have to kill

This isn't an answer per-say, but to respond your question on why Capcom doesn't/hasn't made a remake of RE 1, the likely answer is because RE 2 was the more popular and safe answer. Many have fond memories of RE 1, but when people think of Classic Resident Evil... most tend to go with RE 2 and 3. Also, the other likely answer as to why they don't remake RE 1 is because there's already a remake of the game available. The game was remade for the Gamecube and later released for PC and other systems. This is just me guessing, and who knows, maybe RE 4 Remake will convince them to do an RE 1 and 0 Remake.

My main dislike for remake re4 is they change many from its B movie action scene to a "realistic" movie scene. They got rid of "No thanks, BRO" I want my highfi rush cringe dialog in my Resident Evil game. I feel this going to be like RE 2. OG and remake each have its strengths and weaknesses. And Salazar, look at how they massacred my boy. It is the biggest flaw in these remakes. It getting of its humor action pack for it a realistic grim dark story. OG has it charm.
