Guitar and Synth demo of the ambient anomaly, Cirrus Spatial Temporal Modifier by KMA Audio Machines.
Available for puchase at: thepedalzone.c...
Cirrus sees KMA enter the digital world with a bang. Besides its 3 unique reverb and delay modes, Cirrus makes itself stand out through its ability to dynamically modulate its reverb and delay based on the strength of your picking attack. And with tap tempo, expression input, fx loop and the ability to flip the routing of the reverb and delay, Cirrus is no less than a true ambient marvel.

I've recently go back into using my pedals and amp for a while of not playing much after leaving my band a few a years ago, I used to play a lot of metal but I've always been into shoegaze stuff so I think this pedal will help a lot with that style haha. how is the Avalanche Run compared to this ?
@bjhale542
@bjhale542 3 жыл бұрын
@@bagnokwarium9142 The Avalanche Run and Cirrus are both digital reverb/digital delay pedals however they both sound and feel very different in my guitar rig. The Avalanche Run excels in its reverse reverb mode and it has such a great reverb that mixes well both subtly and mix to the max. The Cirrus is certainly more droning and has so many tweakable parameters that require much exploratory time. I absolutely love both and often use them combined in subtle ways in a stereo rig with one on one amp and the other running through the second amp. Think of these pedals as stewards of different sonics that have a slight overlap in their capabilities. In most cases they cover far different atmospheric textures and they both have their own vibe and feel and rarely do they really capture identical sound of one another. THe cirrus is a deeper pedal due to the wide array of parameter tweaks. The avalanche run is more straight forward, yet still reaches deep with a more straightforward user interface. The expression pedal will open up both pedals in far different ways and requires you to think different when in expression pedal mode. The cirrus mod delay mode is more organic and tape sounding to me than the avalache run, but in reverse delay mode on avalache there is an alien organic feel to the delay in a different way...things like this set them apart. Listen to the reviews from Stefan and focus on the sonics and user controls. I recommend both. I pair them sometimes with the thermae and whoa!!!!!
@bagnokwarium9142

@@bjhale542 Thanks for the detailed answear ! i ordered AR some time ago , now i am thinking about a second delay ( i will run them both with boss line selector) And i cant decide between Cirrus or used Nemesis. Its just i havent seen a cirrus demo on YT i like 100% especialy the octave stuff sounds weird to me, like the tracking is wonky. Probably will end up with them 3 in my board anyway lol :D
@bjhale542
@bjhale542 3 жыл бұрын
@@bagnokwarium9142 I think the Thermae is the best delay I have. It's analog nature blends well with the digital delay and reverb of the avalanche run. I also have an old Boss DD20 and the tape and analog mode on that older unit sounds really great when combined with the avalanche run. I think the Cirrus is a great pedal, and different from all of these that I have mentioned. It tracks very well in my rig, and how one sets the sens knobs determines the behavior of adjustment according to your picking dynamics. Like the Walrus AUdio SLO it has different strength attributes when run before the amp or within the effects loop if your amp has one. I'm still getting to know the Cirrus. It has so many different ways of being used in one's sound. Good luck in your quest.

Sample & Hold filters aren't new in the pedal world. Maestro made the FSH-1 Sample & Hold Filter pedal back in the 70s. And EQD's Spatial Delivery can do Sample & Hold as well. But you definitely don't see Sample & Hold filters within the world of delay that often. So KMA 100% found a unique route here. Sample & Hold + Delay is just magical 😊 Happy you dig the pedal. It's a beautiful ambient beast.

I'm wondering though, does this have near infinite delay SOS looping functionality at all, kind of like the boss DD series or the El Cap? If so, it's more than earned a purchase. If not, it's still likely next up for me!

@thepedalzone
@thepedalzone 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Don't really do comparisons anymore. But if you listen to demos of the two pedals it's easy to hear how they differ. Avalanche Run is more airy, clean and pristine, whereas Cirrus is more dense, cloudy and undulating. They are honestly stark contrasts when it comes to the ambient reverb/delay arena. But they work wonderfully together. Cirrus can impart the movement that the AR lacks, while the AR can add airy width as well as reverse delays to the equation.

Hi, i am just wondering about the expression slider that you use with the cirrus, is it TRS cable that you were using? *sorry for my bad English 😅

Oh HELL YEAH!!! I’ve been using/loving the horizont since you sent it (it’ll be on the EP we track at the end of October). I’m thinking this badass into the FX loop could be an unholy pairing. Glad you’re back from 42GS; looks like you had fun. You doing WNAMM? If so, after a year +, we’ll finally get to hang (I was at SNAMM, but you weren’t). Love ya man!!! -Aaron

I'm still soooooo stuck between this KMA Cirrus and the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Minim. They're very similar but different. I think I'm leaning a little more towards the Cirrus. But I can't tell lol. Minim is more available to buy, but I just don't know. Dangarang You're videos are the absolute best out there though. Good job. If you think there are any big difference's please let me know. Thanks for the videos duder!!!

Lol same, man. I’d definitely buy this if there’s a reverse knob. I like Minim because of the reverse and double speed reverse effect but I dont find it worth for me to buy as i rarely use it in my music. I prefer a knob than a foot switch.
@foreverjulybass85

I agree, the reverse was basically the only reason I wanted the Minim and the Cirrus does so much that I went ahead and bought it from Chicago Music Exchange on Amazon Tuesday and received it yesterday. I have to say the Cirrus is absolutely awesome. I'll probably get the Dark Star Or Minim next. Or maybe the Logan distortion from OBNE. But so far the Cirrus was worth it.

My dream reverb/delay pedal would be the simplicity of the QT Prelude but the two toggle switches would be to switch between three popular reverbs and the other for delay subdivisions.

I've got the cirrus and I think it's a great pedal, but I noticed something strange that I am not able to figure out. The pedal produces a good amount of hiss (which isn't necessarily something strange and I could live with it to a certain degree) and every ten to twenty minutes the volume of the hissing noise starts to rise and after two or three minutes it goes back to the 'normal' hiss... I wonder if there is anybody else who experienced something like this? Btw: great demo Stefan, made me buy it in the first place ! :)

Hey Stephan do you prefer this the dispatch master or avalanche run?
@thepedalzone
@thepedalzone 4 жыл бұрын
I prefer them all together, feeding in and out of each other 😊Look, there's no clear answer to this, other than "it depends". It all depends on context and what sound I'm going for. Dispatch Master is great for warm organic ambience. Avalanche Run is great for airy and arctic soundscapes and crystalline repeats. Cirrus is awesome for ever evolving ambient textures and synthy pads. But like I said, they work wonders together. Or just going with the modulated nature of the Cirrus into either the clean and crisp airwaves of the AR or the warm soothing drips of the DM is also a winning combination.

Congrats on getting a Cirrus, man. It's a killer soundscape device. I would suggest you try both stacking orders, that's the only way you'll find out what suit you and your style. Place it after if you want to wash out Cirrus' trails even more, or place it before, if you want to make Cirrus' trails sustain forever.

Is it possible to operate the delay and the reverb separately?
@DLanorURU
@DLanorURU 4 жыл бұрын
I have this pedal. It is great for ambient but I am having some trouble to make it work for ordinary rhythmic dotted 8 stuff. With the delay mix set at 50/50 (which is actually around 1 o'clock instead of 12) there is a significant volume drop when I engage the effect. I wish there was an option to change the behavior of the mix knob so that it keeps the dry signal at 100% and blends in the wet signal. I also miss a tone control to roll off high or bottom end on the repeats. I really wanted to love this pedal but sadly without those options it cannot stay on my pedal board.
