@N K I hate to play devil's advocate, but... Who says it (heaven) is not real? People don't need proof to believe everything, religion (theology) is based on faith, not fact. I wouldn't say it's an edgy statement to be optimistic about going on to inner peace, or to what you consider to be non-existence at the end of one's life. There is no way of proving what happens to the soul after a person has passed on. We know from science (facts) that brain function and heart rates slow to a stop, but what of a person's essence (aura, spirit, ect.)? We can only use our beliefs to guide us; hence reincarnation, entering into heaven, and other explanations. Interesting debate topic, thanks for reading.
