Kmymoney works quite well if you are able to import your bank account transactions as CSV-file. It can autocategorize those based on historical usage, only new payees need to be categorized. You can also setup it using a database, e.g. sqlite-file, and make additional reporting based on the sqlite-database.

FYI:You can configure the report for a payee. Something I could not do in Gnucash unless you are using the vendor and supplier functionality.

Payee is not for that. Lol. You make an account for 'Internet' or 'mortgage'. Payee would be like ATT or TMobile. Your mortgage should be a liability account. Another example: Payee: Comcast Account(category): Internet

I think you need to set up an encryption key. Then you can encrypt your file.

Yes, in fact I moved my other business to it (dual accounting this year with QuickBooks), then next year I will ditch QuickBooks and go pure GNUCash

I run Cinnamon 19.3. What would I have to do to run KMyMoney? Do/can I run it on Cinnamon, or do I have to set up KDE, and how? I really can't find anything on this.

Just install it in the package manager. It will install the necessary components.

Equity is a cash account; how much you currently have or a starting balance. I use mine as my Owners Draw and Owners Contribution.

Yes do more videos!! As you dive into it, I'd like to hear what you think. Gnucash reports are not detailed enough or flexible but they are more business oriented vs KMyMoney is more personal oriented.
