The air scoop isn't connected to the box, looks unfinished to me. I bet you didn't mod your hood to coop with the intake.

the intake isnt any higher than the stock box so there isnt any modifying needed and its easy to cut ur own hole for the air scoop. easy to make assumptions when you dony research first

What happens to the other piece that is no longer connected to anything? You just leave it there? Does it have any purpose of being there?

It is probably still there. but it sits flush behind the heat shield thats why we cant see it from this angle. (that is if it is mounted according to the manual) kandn.com/instructions/57-1001_inst.pdf step 18 and onwards shows you how to install the mas sensor

False. Judging by the shape of stock airbox this is a M52TU engine which comes in 2.0, 2.5 and 2.8 liter variants (also 2.4 for Thailand market only). Cabrio is much heavier than sedan, so it's normal to be slower
