Insanity and Rethinking Voxels gotta be my favorites. Rethinking Voxels looks awesome considering the fact it's more realistic than Complementary Reimagined and Insanity is just literally so good for foggy maps and everything, it just has something that made me like it.

I have to completely agree because I'm a fan of horror aspects with free roam and really like the RTX-like shaders that also introduce coloured lights which I love.

I personally like Solas shaders, they add a nice and subtle depth effect to well-lit blocks in addition to being your average, stunning shaderpack and are pretty lightweight from my experiences.

i love insanity shaders - super easy to set up for your mates when you're trying to do a horror experience with 'em something really cool with them, you can use insanity shaders to make it look like a really cool sorta 8-bit game, but.. not really? i don't know how to explain it.

I personally use Realism Mats texture pack mixed with SEUS Renewed, it adds reflections to the water, shiny blocks, and blocks that are rained on! It also adds cool details and lighting! It also has some really nice

Another thing about the last spooky shaders; at random times you will see eyes on the sides of blocks and they dissapear if u get too close. Most of them are white eyes, but some can be red. Its very fun.

Rethinking Voxels lighting can sometimes be inconsistent (idk how to say it). Complementary Reimagined is overall the best (If you want clouder clouds and waterer water, you can change it in the settings). Other good shaders are: Make Up Ultra Fast (For slower PCs) Pastel Shaders (For slower PCs but no 1.20 support) Astralex Shaders (BSL-based and cool night sky) Seus Renewed (Cool water) Continuum (Cool clouds) Project Luma (Cool but got discontinued)

Rethinking voxels is a great shader, it’s just very intensive it’s still playable though. Just keep in mind this shader is more for high end and maybe mid end if you change its settings. Otherwise 10/10

to get outlines in bsl shaders you just have to go to it's shader settings then extras and you will find outline option there

Sildirs Vibrant doesn’t get enough love imo. More performant than complimentary but so pretty. more stylised than realistic however, which isn’t for everyone

Imagine there's a mod where there's a layer of fog starting at an average height from bedrock lvl. But as it goes down, the fog gets more intense making it hard to see as you go deeper. But when you go higher into the sky, you get nausea and even take more damage the higher you go.

Complementary unbound with the water set to Reimagined + waves is the best The regular complementary unbound water doesn’t look as good cuz it’s just completely smooth, the reimagined has an actual texture to it (also u can change that textures opacity and randomise it)
